Red Sun (Clear Skies ~ F*ckin' Invincible Mix)

I couldn't decide which title to use, so I just used both! CHOOSE YOUR FAVORITE! xD
I swear, I'll get to the tutorial video (honestly, it might end up being more than one) and the GRAD mix at some point soon. I just haven't had enough time over the past few weekends to even consider it. But thankfully, I did have enough time for this mix.
I'd like to think that I've basically gotten this whole mixing thing down to a science now, but this one was tough. It had some very advanced edits that needed to be made in order for everything to flow and transition smoothly, and there were more audio tracks in my editor than ever. As such, I wouldn't recommend starting with this track if you're a budding mixer; the final two boss themes of the game or Rules of Nature are probably a safer bet.
Either way, I used all the tricks I've learned from previous mixes here: the structure, sub-vocals, intro sequence, and inclusion of other tracks besides the song itself have all been done in at least one mix before this. However, I've never really added an outro to the mix, and I decided to experiment with it here, seeing as Sundowner gets a separate track to end his boss fight and I really enjoy that track on its own.
On top of that, this mix sort of shares a story with Monsoon's mix from last month, in that it's still raining at the beginning of this one from the end of that one. This sense of cohesion fueled the outro of this mix, in which I tried to create a very brief moment of solace for Raiden and the listener. After all, with Sundowner's defeat, there's only one person standing in the way of you saving the world now. Might as well reflect on that and this song's fixation on nature a little, y'know?
"Red Sun" and "Tour de Force" were composed by Jamie Christopherson, as a part of the OST for "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance". I claim no ownership of the original works, but I do claim responsibility for mixing these two together to create the final product that you're listening to.

***** It's probably to show that Sundowner actually just looks and acts like a tough guy when he's really a complete pushover. Despite spending half the game showing him to be this unstoppable monster, he's got low health, needs constant reinforcements during his boss battle... he doesn't even fight Raiden during the finisher and counts on the chopper to do the dirty work for him. The only problem is they were _too_ good at getting the point across; Sundowner is squishier than... I dunno, what _do_ you call those things? Those little toys you're supposed to squeeze when you're stressed? I forget.

Breaking his shields off should have been HP% based, so once you finally break the final set of shields he is incredibly low, and when it looks like the battle is almost over he just starts rapidly regenerating health well beyond 100% so you enter into an endurance match with him constantly at full no matter how much you hit him, giving off the impression that he is as he claims, invincible; only for the regeneration to stop after about a minute and you can finally begin whittling him down.

I wish they used Sundowners shields pretty similarly to Monsoons whole taking himself apart gimmick where his shields would automatically block or parry Raiden's attacks which gives Sundowner an opening to begin his attack patterns while forcing the player to think about actually destroying his shields first. Give him an extra bit of health to lengthen the fight, some new attack patterns to vary the fight more, and uh boom. Fun fight. At least for me.

Thinking of doing a mashup of this song and Paul Shortino's EGGMAN theme from SA2B as an Eggman tribute. Before you guys say "wtf that doesn't make sense", let me explain Red Sun=eggman's logo projected into the sky I think he had spotlights that did that in Sonic Colors or Unleashed? Eggman's been using a lot of red in his color palette lately (Colors and Generation's Planet Wisp level) Paradise=Eggmanland Machines come to transform Eden=What happened to Planet Wisp in Sonic Colors Birds of Prey=Buzzbombers Nature's sacrifice= More on planet wisp and Eggman's original plan to kidnap helpless forest animals and turn them into robots (kinda like how sundowner kidnaps helpless children to turn them into robots)
