Did you guys remove the color bars option from the menu? I use that at every prep to calibrate the monitors. It was in the previous generation of RED cameras, but now I can't find it.

Hey guys, I forgot to ask this question yesterday during the livestream: Why did you make the ND system in steps and not continuous?
@JonPais2 жыл бұрын
You might ask Sony and ARRI the same question! Variable NDs are not as color accurate as single stop NDs and they can introduce artifacts.

Perfect. Great job and great presentation. Not stuffy but very informative. You made a great camera. Dare I say better than the ARRI 35?

@matt purdon I’m sure Alpha &Omega can speak for themselves, Matt. They’ve shared beautiful footage shot with the V-Raptor in R3D raw and I’d be interested in hearing their thoughts.

@@JonPais I wrote a two page response to your question and RED removed it. Amazing. Email me and I'll send it to you. Sorry, RED, for being honest.

@@JonPais It really doesn't make sense. Don't think it was "delete" worthy. Anyway, I'm looking for it.

All the toys don’t make for a better film though - they create a better “looking” film. And thats strictly in terms of appearance. As for the “content” - that’s up to the creatives helming the production. Producers, Directors and Screenwriters primarily. It’s no secret that as the demand for content has increased exponentially - especially due to the popularity of streaming - the quality of the content has declined remarkably. Often the aforementioned creatives don’t have enough experience (especially “life” experience) to draw from and fall back on tired tropes and/or political ideologies to create content that lacks the essential humanity to connect with audiences in a meaningful and compelling way. If only Red had a button for that.
