The story behind a couple of boards built for speed in smaller to average waves. One of them is floating somewhere in the Pacific Ocean unfortunately. If someone finds it, @PyzelSurfboardsInternational is offering a reward.

After 20 years riding only 5'10"-6'2" I got talked into buying a used 5'6" hybrid performance fish and it was the funnest board I've ever had, and I've tried a LOT of boards in my life.

I broke my back, used performance fish with trailer fin to get through recovery and never got off it, I want a little round tail or rounded sq same Dims see how it goes on backhand. Without a middle fin I find performance fish still a little boggy on backhand, probs just me tho. Forehand it goes amazing

I’m 6’1” and used to ride a Machado CI 5’4” fish. So much fun, but the only downside was that it had LokBox and those popped right out of the glass from turning. I got a disco 5’4” and a gremlin 5’7”. Super fun for small waves. Never too tall for small boards.

The new boards (RT and WT) may appear similar to Phantom and Gremlin when you only compare outlines, but they are very different in all other regards. Questions like yours are not uncommon, and the exact answer is hard to find- but basically they are simply different and they will feel different when you ride them. It's also not easy for me to explain exactly what they DO feel like, since everyone experiences boards in different ways. All I can truly tell you is that they both very fast, and that most likely you will have a good time riding them.

@ccozzarelli
@ccozzarelli Жыл бұрын
Completely different. first, Phantom has the wide point forward and a wider tail. I´m not sure about the bottom contours, but the red tiger is suppose to be pyzel´s HPSB with the flattest rocker yet so there is that, this board is going to replace the shadow for John, so has more performance than the phantom. And the WT I think it is a new and refined version of the Rat Skull but i haven´t read much about that model so i cant compare them.

What's the difference between the White Tiger and a Gremlin and the Red Tiger and a Phantom ?, Thought those boards were designed for the same reasons? Has JJ even surfed the G or P???? I'd like to hear his response. BTW, here in big messy Norcal - way north of the GG - I love my Ghost in everything from ( Hawaiian ) 2 - 6'. My Grem is pretty magic in 1 - 4' and fun to goof around in 2 - 4' over head lumpy surf... One thing I will say, you really need the right fins to get the most out of them, especially the G.....

I agree! It's been hard to shift that way since people are so happy with how boards feel how we make them now, and also the fact is that we can make less damaging boards, but they will cost much more. I see more and more people willing to pay extra for organic food, so hopefully that consciousness will pass on to other planet-friendly things as well before too long. Ask yourself this- would you be willing to pay say $1500 for a surfboard if it was built in a more environmentally clean way?
