Well done, Scott - thanks for putting this out. Do you know whether EVF can be used simultaneously with RED 7 inch DSMC3 monitor or SmallHD 5 inch monitor with RED control?

You can’t use 2 RMI devices at the same time. But RaptorX has 2 SDI ports so you could run a SmallHD with RED Control and the DSMC3 EVF. Or, you’d use the $12K EVF and then the RED 7” Touch. Limitations of the number of video feeds RMI has.

I guess you gotta ask yourself: are you going to benefit from a global shutter or virtual production? Or would you benefit more from having a B cam / backup brain.

Yea, it's a serious question and would boil down to use cases. If you use 1 camera, having 2 might not help you. But, if you can use 2 and want global shutter some of the time, KX is a nice fit.
