@@therealdeal3672 obviously you haven't served because no one would call an E9 which means ENLISTED an officer except a civilian that doesn't know the way ranks work. I understand the last word in NCO is officer but ask any E5 and higher if they are an officer and they will all respond the same way. That they aren't officers they work for a living. I mean seriously ask....I'm waiting because I was one.....

You don't make that level in the military without being very smart, and smart people have a great sense of humor. While I was in the Air Force, once got to eat with a general. He was smart and funny, and made us feel completely comfortable with him.

It's a much less deep cut for general sci-fi; the Kzinti pre-date their Star Trek animated appearance by almost a decade. Larry Niven's Known Space (the origin of the Kzinti) is a significant body of work. Good to see them included!

Heard a great interview with Colbert when he was still doing the Colbert Report. They asked him how he did such goofy pieces for his show and the first thing he said was "The first thing I tell the subject is 'I want you to understand that I'm a complete idiot, so this interview will be absolutely absurd.' " Yup, you have me full convinced Stephen and it's totally GREAT.

Curious, I checked out his channel, and sure enough - he's an accomplished pianist and Hammond organ player (a classic - yes!) who's played the Monterey Jazz Festival a few times and has a number of protects on the go. I subscribed. I'm a jazz & blues singer in Canada, so it's right up my alley.

Thank you so much for this series and your USO trip! I think it's important to highlight all the important work the Air Force was and Space Force is doing to keep us all safe. There's a misconception that it's about fighting aliens or militarizing the Moon, but there's a very real contest going on to dominate our access to all the wonderful things satellites and ground stations looking spaceward do for us right here on Earth. It's comforting to see these intrepid guardians holding their professionalism in the face of both real threats and your humor!

I was annoyed at first, but then I thought it actually kind of made sense, because instead of picking a Star Trek captain, he just made up a name that sounded as dirty as Stephen's jokes! 😂 I'm not a fan of the dirty talk, too juvenile and boring, but at least the guy picked up on Stephen's style for this sketch and went along with it. The military guy is a guy who knows his audience, I guess! 😂
