I can't begin to explain why it is so engaging and relaxing to watch boots being rebuilt. Perhaps it is only that it is easier to watch hard work being done than to do it myself. Likely it is the pleasure of seeing a real craftsman at his trade. Regardless, I enjoy these videos immensely. Thank you.

yes so do I, but a lot of kids do not understand the value of hand work and craftsmanship and why it is so important. My dad who grew up in the great Depression would often tell me and my brother "Even if you have to dig ditches be the best ditch digger you can be and do the best work possible.". Today that work ethic is not tought. At work today I see to meany young people not working but spending time on their cell phones tweeting.

@@Delgen1951 yes sir, something happened to the way our youth are utilized today. There are no shop classes hell there's barely driving classes in school anymore. In fear of letting my tin foil hat show I think this is part of an agenda so the elite can turn over profit for as little as possible via third world sweat shops. Kids just don't all of a sudden morph Into couch potatoes in a couple decades. Yes I know the earth is round and more than likely we went to the moon it just feels american european labor has purposely been made obsolete for the growth of the elite purses. My step son thinks working at Wendy's is the best job ever. I want to just shake him. With broken families or both parents working the very fabric has been torn. Likely to just stay broken until we see a depression like the 30's. Well sorry for the rant. I'm just disgusted by what I see.

Great work. I wonder why so many people choose a 6" boot over an 8" , I definitely see more 6" boots in your videos. I know when I bought my Thorogoods I went with an 8" plain toe because everyone out here in rural NorCal who doesn't buy their boots at Walmart seems to wear a 6" redwing moc toe.

I don't know all that much about boots: why is there that gap in the middle of the sole? Is it to reduce weight/material? Do people not have issues with things catching the gap occasionally and causing issues with walking?

Wow! They look like the short version of the US Army Airborne's Paratrooper Boots of WWII when they were brown cordovan color but shorter. From my Paratrooper history the Corcoran Jump Boots were a very prized item for all Paratroopers. Paratroopers would kick other soldiers asses for wearing them to include MPs (Military Policemen) unless they were Airborne MPs and qualified as Paratroopers by wearing jump wings. Soldiers would never wear them unless authorized by their commanders on duty. Many soldiers who are not Paratroopers got their asses kicked authorized or not because these boots were prized as a trademark to all Paratroopers during WWII, Korean War Era, and early Vietnam War. I bet lumber jacks who wore these got their asses kicked or had fights with lumber jacks who were former Paratroopers of the earlier era. I would like to find one of these for my own wear. They just have that rustic look of the way men should be. Strong, resilient, and can do like Paratroopers.
