Thanks Brian I appreciate it, glad you liked the video. Yup I did prefer riding the Scram, just that bit more fun for on road and country back lanes 👍 For longer trips I would go for the Himalayan. Cheers

Funny when you were talking about the prunes. I remember when I was a kid I had a Hodaka 100. It had a tank that came vertical up in the back and then curved forward. That was a prune juicer too. Similar to what the scram does. I'm 62 now and retired. I rode a Harley Electra Glide for 20 years as a commuter. Feeling like down sizing now. I love the classic 350. if they would make a classic 411 that would be in my garage.

Haha yes it was ok when riding, just when I stopped getting on and off the bike was tricky! I recommend taking a look at the new BSA Gold Star kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2HHe6qJZ9eofc0 Quite similar to the RE Classic 350, just with a bigger 650 single engine 👍

A little late to the party, however I’m considering a scram 411 since the scram 440 is on the horizon, and they represent great value now. As always, very useful really nicely produced video. I trust your comments more than any other bike reviewer.

Well gauged review! Royal Enfield have something special. That's what I kept reading, so decided to try some whilst I tried an NT1100. I walked out with a Scram and an Interceptor, wishing I had the extra for a Classic 350 as well. 100m metres on the Scram I wondered why I was trying it. 200 metres and I was in love with it. Speed won't contort your face in g-force, but as you so rightly say, 60-65 is ample on all the fun roads it's designed for - it will keep up with all the near legal traffic happily. I borrowed a Himalayan whilst my Scram was in for service for a day. Very similar, but the larger wheels make for better tracking on 'faster' sweeping bends, though the Scram is better all round. Initially the Himalayan seat is more plush, but soon becomes too soft and a little too wide for me. The Scram, I could ride long distances. The 411s seem to gain a quick love and really are something special - a fun experience that's a return to some of the motorcycling I've lost over many years and too many large capacity bikes.

Thanks glad you liked the review 👍 Haha sounds like you caught the RE bug! They are so charming and fun to ride, my favourite of the bunch is the Interceptor. I think the lower power is part of their charm, fun and useable. Great to hear you are enjoying them so much. Cheers

I have the Himalayan. It’s a great bike. Handles immaculately. You can pin the throttle and find yourself below the speed limit which I love. On the negative side some bolts are rusting after just 1000 miles which is disappointing.

A bit late I know but apparently RE did tweak the fueling on the Scram to make it better. Maybe this is why you feel the difference as well as the silencer. This improvement to the fueling is also in the Himalayans as they come through the factory now so be aware if you buy one as to how long its been on the show room floor.
@redangrevival2 жыл бұрын
That would definitely make a difference and explain the better performance 👍 It was definitely noticeable. Defo something to be aware of!

Great review buddy 👍....we took out the Himalayan and the meteor back to back and even thou the meteor is only a 350cc I found it felt pokier than the himalayan (which I found really ponderous) I'm not overly keen on the looks of the scram tbh...need to get myself the 650 super meteor though!! 😍
@redangrevival2 жыл бұрын
Thanks glad you liked it 👍 Yup the Himalayan does feel quite sluggish! This scram with the end can is great fun, but I am the same as you, not a massive fan of the looks. 😁 Yes the new Meteor 650 looks brilliant, think will sell very well. Great size of cruiser at an affordable price.

Nice, they are great bikes 👍 Think I personally preferred riding the Scram (especially with that exhaust). However for longer distances would take the Himalayan! Good luck with your quote 🤞

@@redangrevival Yeah am leaning toward the Himi but could do the exhaust on that n the air filter. I def agree it gives it a great boost for some country lane riding. Might do Spain next year but was thinking 200 miles max a day then just soak up the sun by a pool. (Minus the Sangria or wont make it up. Ride at 7am so am done by Siesta time).

Hi, great videos, what do you think of the triumph scrambler vs this scram 411 as im in brazil and looking at both of them as an option to where i am which is more dirt track which in summer turns into a wet mud whilst in the winter like sand on a beach in places, very fine and 'sandy' ...
@redangrevival23 күн бұрын
The Triumph is a better bike and quality. However the RE is cheaper and probably better for your off-road riding
@PubRunner Жыл бұрын
I took a Scram for a test ride a while back and it’s actually a tad taller in the seat. The seat height is measured to the base of the seat. While the seat base is lower the seat is thicker on the Scram so it’s a tad taller The Scram has a different engine map to the earlier model euro 5 Himalayans but all Himalayans from the Scrams release date have the same map. My Euro 4 Himalayan is getting the ecu update next week. That different engine map may be what’s causing the performance difference
@redangrevival Жыл бұрын
That is interesting about the seat height! Yes I can see why. Yup I think the new engine map is the main reason for the performance difference 👍 It is quite a nice change. Cheers
@PubRunner Жыл бұрын
@@redangrevival the early Euro 5 Himalayans had an issue that they would throw Rae on meaningless check engine lights that would do away after a day or two. The new ECU map is supposed to fix that.
@1990-t1j2 жыл бұрын
This isn't a bad bike, at all. I like the scrambler segment. I am considering getting a smaller scrambler to replace my 390 Duke and to support my SCR950. I don't think the RE quite does it, though. My favourite one at the moment is the forthcoming Honda CL500. It's a shame that isn't a single, but the 471cc Honda twin is a good one. Not much choice here, anyway, as Chiang Rai Triumph have dropped RE. Excellent review, Red.
@redangrevival2 жыл бұрын
Many thanks I appreciate it and glad you enjoyed the review 👍 Yes i still have not made my mind up on the looks of the new Honda CL500, however am sure it will ride great! The after market exhaust really makes a difference with the RE engine. Good luck with your choice, I love scramblers in general. Cheers

@1990-t1j9 ай бұрын
@@georgeharsin6292 It's a great bike. Very stable in a straight line. You are always on peak torque, so instant acceleration. The classic looks do it for me. It's a bit like my old XT500 with a big V-twin engine shoehorned in.
