I've only been to a handful of stand up shows but Harland was hands down the best I've seen. Idk if he even did any of his set or actual jokes, he just mostly messed with the same 7 or so people in the crowd all night but I wouldnt even really call it crowd work. He'd pick one thing about the person and just slowly build off it all night, creating these elaborate fantasy stories about them. I sat directly in front of the stage and I always wear a golfer/irish type hat and he brought up how I looked like the dog catcher from 101 Dalmatians and then went into how much I must love to murder and eat poor defenseless innocent dogs. Every time he came back to me he would bring up a different dog breed and would just go on and on in gory horrid detail about all the different ways I liked to kill and cook em up while painting there last moments as so sad and tragic, or he'd ask if I'd ever done this or that horrible thing to a dog and then always end it with something like, "dont worry guy, dont be so hard on yourself, there's still time, you will" as if it was something on my bucket list or like it was my true calling or passion in life and of course I would never miss out on whatever he was saying. What was really genius is how he slowly started to blend and incorporate the different people he was talking about, adding somebody else he was messing with into my dog stories or vice versa. For making all or most of it up on the spot it was pretty amazing.

I’m embarrassed for Joe. He has no idea a collection of lions is called a pride of lions. Uff.

I haven't seen much of Harland before this but his personality is so similar to Tom Green it's crazy. That video of him scaling the wall of Tom's house when he passed out on stream makes so much sense now. Also his sense of humor is so basic and silly like a grandpa (like Norm MacDonald) and the fact Joe can't comprehend it is incredible.

It's even worse than Mike thinks. "Dr. Spock" was a child psychologist in the 60s who wrote some popular books. So the chain reaction in Joe's dome goes like this: here's reference to real psychologist named Dr. Spock who Joe has never heard of, Joe assumes it must be Mr. Spock (fictional) who Joe HAS heard of, which leads Joe to Star Trek which Joe knows is associated with someone named Spock, which then leads Joe to Picard who in Joe's mind must be the same as Mr Spock (because everyone on Star Trek is the same) who must be the same as Dr. Spock (because the same name) and therefore bald shaming.
