I've been curious about why I haven't heard more about the Wildcat engines. I bought one quite a while back when they first came out and love it. Stiffer block and side cover, "stroker" crank, good head and electric start. They are great units for the money.

I had a company that build's bike stretch the frame out since i am 6'5" 280 built average size. And they did a dam good job. And i go off roading with friend's all the time.

@@RedBeardsGarage On those minibikes u build i would have to have them stretch out cause one of my kid's has one. And i can only just go straight cause trying to stear with my knees against the handlebar's is not easy. My chopper was custom made by a really good friend and it fit's me good. My wife has a little sport's bike and she is 5'5" and it fit's her good. She can reach my handlebar's on mine but her arm's are like straight up. And she has to lean foward good.

Can't help but think that the Juggernaut is a modernized version of that old Salisbury. I have a Salisbury shop manual and they look identical. The Salisbury was the unit of choice for the Harrison Wildcat mini bikes that were built up here in Michigan :D

Been using those EC intakes for a while. Probably 20 of them. The cheap vm22s fit right on but I've switched to the Nibbi flanged carbs. So much better.

Looks awesome but as someone with a 98 you are going to want to gusset that frame and add an upper engine mount or that frame is going to fail.

These bikes are actually really cool and special. I'm pretty sure it's one of only like 3-5 production vehicles to make the complete drive from north America to the bottom of south America and not break to the point it couldn't be repaired.

Could you do an episode of road to horsepower that specifically looks at timing keys for flywheels? I know GPS flywheels come with some advance to the timing. How much is that timing worth vs a cheaper ebay aluminum flywheel? Does a timing offset key make up the difference?

I have a 2008 Rokon with the stock Kohler cs6 and would like to upgrade the carburetor to something similar and twist throttle is this something worth doing. Great video and upgrade Rokon has really missed out making their product a little bit better, Too bad this engine with your upgrades was available to buy ready to go.

They have been around since the 1960s at least . During the 1980s they were always advertising in popular mechanics magazine. I never had one but always dreamed of having one . They are expensive and mechanically complex with lots of things to go wrong.

RBG the OEM engine was chosen because it sipped fuel and could go for great distances. Your engine uses 4 times the amount of fuel.

@@RedBeardsGarage all good ! Those Gx160s are dogs in stock form but they do have a nice 14cc head , if you put a flat top piston ,.010 head gasket , mod2 cam and some 22lb springs they are actually pretty rowdy little engines . That small stroke makes them rev incredibly fast and high .

I know that infinite range is part of the rocon concept. But for going slow through the forest I feel like electric would be more suitable, and much more quite. Maybe just strap a small Honda generator on the back.

Later years of that bike have some mods for strength the should really be added to this one, fishmouth gusset, rear frame-center tube gussets, top motor mount bracket. I own one that needs these mods done.

I always thought that a higher RPM range (5 or 6k) would make the Rokon more "utilitarian". Not necessarily for 3rd gear top speed but for a higher speed range in 1st and 2nd so you don't have to change gears so much. @redbeardsgarage give us your thoughts on that. Thanks for doing this build. Great content. It would be interesting to know what the new speed range is in each gear, can you do that?

I wont lie... I have been waiting years to see you do a personal from the ground up bike frame build and motor install. If i recall, you yook like, an Orange County Chopper Schwinn Stingray and put a few of your own touches on it with a 420 Predator i believe... But never really your own custom built chopper frame. Maybe... Take the new 500cc duromax and slap it on a bike framr uour have made that you feel comfortable riding on. Definitely something im sure many would love yo see.
