Here is the second half of the day at Redbird SRA in Indiana. Hope you enjoy! Turns out that park is fairly small for full size 4x4...and got very crowded after lunch.
And nobody had done "all of 3X" in a while as there were zero tire marks on anything more than what we ran that day, and by our reasoning, if those other built rigs didn't even attempt the rest of it, we certainly weren't going to with a 4 hour drive home. I won't be going back to attempt any more of it until after a nice long summer drought dries that place up.
Mods:
-Rocky Road Super Sliders (rock rails)
-Dobinsons KL Trailhawk suspension lift, paired with partial Hazard Sky lift spacers to achieve 2.5" lift
-32" Milestar Patagonia MTs (265/70/17) (had to trim front fenders and pinch welds)
-40" Rough Country Curved LED DLR Light bar with Hazard Sky mounts
-Rock Lights (cheapo)
-4" Pod Lights (cheapo)

Yeah, currently waiting for LABOR issue to get my PTU replaced. They've had the part for almost 3 months (didn't let me know it was there for the first month), and i've been waiting my turn to get in for 6 weeks now. But if i take it anywhere else, i lose my spot in line, and then i'd also have to wait for the next shop to order the PTU...ugh

Thats one of my retorts to taking my 'expensive cherokee' into the woods...i point at nearly half the rigs around me and say "he's more expensive...he's more expensive..." Our limited aftermarket helps our total costs though. I think at most for trail upgrades we're at 5-6k. Wranglers...well, the sky is the limit really...

Those hills were ICE. Notice all the times in both the vids where tires were simply sliding down the hills. Gotta stay on the skinny pedal! Mine kept trying to shift right at the wrong moments and killing my momentum so i had to try to do the manual and keep it in 2nd gear.

So I finally put my new tiers on, went with KO2's in same size you have. Pinchweld was easy fix on the front, didn't have to touch the back, but the front rubs on the forward part of the fender cause they are a lot more bigger and aggresive than others with other brands in that wheel size. They look great though. Still trying to figure out a way to do my own trunk spare mod simular to yours....lol

BFG usually run smaller than others. I had to trim a metric tonne from my driver front fender, and not quite as much from the passenger side. They still rub on the 'frame' at full lock though.

Thats the trouble at Redbird...the mud pits SUCK. Every time i've been there you'd need 40's ect to have a chance to get through a lot of them. I've been twice now. The place is built in a swamp. Super Sliders. My advice, as someone who uses the slider for its intended purpose, don't get the 'kicker'...it can get caught on all manor of things and potentially get you stuck or cause damage because it tries to force you over to the side when the kicker bit hits something.

I'm not sure what is next for the me the sliders or front bumper/winch, but not finding a lot of options for the 2019 for winch/bumpers just yet. So I'll prob get the supersliders next. Do you think that the majority of the cabin noise on the highway comes from the tires? Are you running at lower pressures still at the end of this video?
@FearlessTrailhawk
@FearlessTrailhawk 3 жыл бұрын
I KNOW the majority of the cabin noise is from the MT tires. I think it has to do with our fully independent suspension that transfers more tire noise into the 'frame'. Having a lift will also cause the springs to be a bit stiffer which also helps transfer more vibrations/sound than usual. For reference, i still have my stock tires on a second set of rims that i swap on/off when i'm not wheeling. And no, i was not running lower trail PSI in my tires after i had cleaned up and gone through the car wash for the 4 hour highway drive home. I always air up as soon as possible after the trails are done. In this case it was the staging area we were parked in at 14:00.
@tanmilne
@tanmilne 3 жыл бұрын
@@FearlessTrailhawk ahh that makes sense since they are unibody vehicles all the vibrations would be transferred throughout the whole vehicle.
