Here in Tunisia we knew about them. We danced to their tunes and we were sad when we listened to a particular tune " we were wounded at wounded knee", we understood then that they were native indians and that they were still confined to reservations. Anyway, just to tell you that thousands of miles from the US, Africans and Europeans knew about Redbone and lolly Vegas. My fav song was "Maggie" Please keep safe.

I always loved "Come and get your love" but i never tried to listen to the rest of this incredible band. In fact i thought this band was made up of African American members, and When i Found out they were native I just had to check out more of thier music and was pleasantly Enamored with this wonderful gem of a band! In fact "One More Time" is my #1 favorite song by this band, followed by "Wovoka" and then "Come and Get your Love"! I was born in December of 1984 so I missed out on seeing these great performers live. I love thier message too. The lyrics are just incredible. These are true artists. Thank you Redbone!

I love their music but I mostly watch the videos to watch Lolly Vegas “lead singer”. I used to know a Native American that looked almost exactly like Lolly, only problem, he was gay. I would think to myself, we women were missing out on a beautiful hunk of man! 😍😍😍 I know I’m not being politically correct in saying this, but what a waste, a man that gorgeous and us women didn’t have a chance with him! ❤❤❤

Native American people without doubt are the single most passionate, sexy, and just plain gorgeous people to ever grace the planet. Redbone never received the credit or recognition they both earned and deserved. Not even from their own people. So proud of their courage and integrity. Check out their video- We were all wounded at wounded knee. Lolly Vegas stated that the 1973 Wounded Knee “Incident”, (the governments word not mine) which Americans watched unfold on tv, was the inspiration for this song. Redbone wrote the words and music AND pressed it in FIVE days only to find out that no one wanted to sell or play it. It was officially banned by the U.S. Lolly had 500 copies pressed and headed to Europe where the song was very well received. They later toured Europe and much of their fan base is European. Share “ We we’re all wounded at Wounded Knee” if you believe it needs to be heard, even now, in 2019!

Wish they had come along 3-4 years later. They're absolutely wonderful, but early 70's were a tough time for music. That thin, bouncy, lightweight sound was so typical of that era, whereas they would have killed with the stronger, harder sounds of the late 70's.

Not one time did Lolly Vegas look at his guitar when he was changing chords. That shows you just how good of a guitar player he was. ( Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe Indians, Wisconsin)
