I lived in Wales for 7 years, grew up in the North. Now I live in England, but my heart is still very much in Wales. Once you experience the freedom and you move you soon realize just how much you've lost. I miss it so much.

Well put. I raced motocross for 6 years and in all reality I respect mountain bike riders a whole lot more. No sport is better than another, just enjoy doing what you do and respect others for what they do.

Love watching this, it always provides inspiration for new filming and building projects and love watching the Atherton's, they have such a great sibling relationship. Hitting these huge jumps with each other has to be one of the best feelings in the world. Heroes.

i don't ride a lot of rock either. we have lots of dirt and clay soil. we build big jumps and berms with it. but i know what you mean. sometimes you just need that pure adrenaline rush of going down a rocky rooty section which you haven't ridden before. that's just pure magical experience. I had my last run like that in Malmedy bike park. me and my best biking friend went to go DH and found this new trails all muddy rocky steep and amazing lines. just absolute ADRENALINE. love it. DH 4 LIFE !!!!

For everyone asking for more GoPro, there's a video of the top to bottom run via Gee's GoPro on Pinkbike and the Redbull site. KZbin won't let people post direct links anymore but it's called "gee go pro test" on Redbull and "Video: Gee Atherton - Llangynog Quarry Helmet Cam" in an article on Pinkbike

These are called downhill mountainbikes: huge suspensions and very heavy frames (which is understandable when you look at the jumps they hit), and are pretty much impossible to pedal up a hill, they're purely for downhill and riding in bike parks. There's also a downhill world cup organized by the UCI (international cycling union) every year between may and October, and that's what those three siblings race in.

I feel like videos like this should be shown in highschool and/or middle school to kind of show the kids what other kind of sports are out there besides the limited sports offered in the school. Like, i never knew about any other sports or athletic activities outside the school because they were never advertised. If i did, i most likely would have had a more enjoyable time in school
