@@mistertwister2000 I just saw like a podcast interview type show clip on KZbin where Derrick Henry was talking about the difference between college and the NFL. The hosts more or less asked him like is there a big difference between college and the NFL? Derrick almost couldn’t contain himself. I just discovered that one of the cornerbacks on this team was Jaylen Watson, the rookie cornerback for the KS City Chiefs who recently had a 100 yard pick 6 vs LA Chargers (Sept 15, 2022). See news article "Jaylen Watson: NFL Draft Prospect Interview" by Justin Melo on April 15, 2022. I'm pretty sure that Watson's face can be seen a little after 5:42 in this video, in the back, between the guy with the orange Ventura tank top, and number 26 in back center. I love this video even more, now that I know Jaylen was there at the time, struggling to make it to the Chiefs in the 7th round and score an end-to-end pick 6 in his second game as a pro.
@tuttleberry10 ай бұрын
Good research. Just for fun, I poked around to find out if anyone else on 2018 Ventura besides Watson made it to the NFL. Turns out, Travis Koontz TE (undrafted) signed with the Raiders in 2022, but I don't think he played in any games. I'm going to say, in this video, I don't agree that Watson is the middle guy at 5:43. I think Watson could be #11 black jersey, and Koontz is #11 white jersey. I'm very confident Koontz is #11 white.

I quickly estimated the yardage from where he threw to where Duper caught it at the sideline...it was damn close to 45 yards in the air.

George Blanda. It's only disrespectful if you don't know.
@brikshoe62593 жыл бұрын
@@Dr.Spatula George Blanda was a pretty good NFL QB also known for his placekicking skills. I didn't recall seeing him punt (I was a staunch Raiders fan as a teenager so I got to watch him in the last 5 years of his career), but since it was George Blanda, I figured he probably did at some point. So I had look it up: he punted 22 times in a 26 year career. He was never known as "the punter", but rather as an all-around great football player.
@saulspeaks25572 жыл бұрын
I think that was a reference to Joe Montana. When he attended his first practice as a 49er, one of the players asked if he was their new punter. It was one of the things that motivated Joe to become great. Can't be sure, of course, but most quarterbacks of a certain age looked up to Joe Montana and know his story. So I wouldn't be surprised if he was referencing that.
@quantumpotential76392 жыл бұрын
George Blanda played in the NFL well into his late sixties. He was the Sam Snead of football. He took his last snap at age 71 in a comeback scrimmage game against Washington and after the game was diagnosed with a slipped disc, which sidelined his effort to return as a quarterback. What a player 💪
