This is the first time I've ever seen a downhill mountain bike race and wow it was amazing. The commentators just did such a good job of breaking it down so even casual Watchers or people like me who watch this for their first time could understand it. Awesome! Time to go buy one and learn a new sport myself :-)

I'll agree that was a dramatic and crazy race that I really enjoyed watching but, maybe it's just me.. but was kinda cheap the camera man just ran passed Danny having just the win the race and the focus was all on Loic. I get it but still. Props to Danny for the insane run

Simple. Not Danny's first win. And won't be his most memorable performance since he'll likely never top a run he did in 2011. Loic's first overall. He gets the shine. And deservedly so. But we all know Loic owes Danny more than one beer after that event...

They did not ignore Danny. This is just a fast recap. I saw it live and there were also shots of Danny at the bottom cruising around with a british flag on his back, while commentators praised his run and his legacy. Very NICE racing season what so ever!!

I've been watching sports for 30+ yrs and i would put this up as the best ever season finale alongside Arsenal winning the league in 89 (i'm an Arsenal fan from the UK) insane riding all season. Lets hope 2021? makes up for lost time. Miss this sport so much.

doolikaz I was wondering the same thing, and then read the description. Check out the last paragraph. Basically Bruni had more points overall, so didn’t need first place. But Pierron needed the points for first place to beat bruni, and second place wasn’t enough. So Hart getting first out Pierron in 2nd and Bruni in 4th, but Bruni still had more points overall.

It's the last race in an 8 race series, Bruni accumulated the most points over the series making him the overall champion for the UCI DH world cup in 2019. By winning the race, Danny Hart ensured Bruni won the overall. Had he come 2nd, pushing Bruni back to 4th, Amaury Pierron would have won the overall. I believe that's as thorough an explanation as anybody could reasonably expect, in the circumstances.
