I’m also interested in if the stock tires can be massaged into service. Currently I’m trying a Simple Green solution. Also if you have tons of extra time and I mean tons, you could experiment with siping them. Dremel and cutting wheel. Like I said though total time suck.

I think they are the perfect stiffness for a tire that isn't scrubbed in yet. How many times have you bought a softer compound tire and it just get too soft and flexible before it's wore out? I think these are good tires meant to last an average person a year or 2 of good performance. Will definitely get better as time goes on.

Yeah man I’m waiting on a ascent right now (ordered hasn’t arrived yet) and I plan on doing almost the same thing I have some treal wheels and some 3D printed “foams” and treal brass waiting here for the truck to arrive so your video was a shock to see!! Got my fingers crossed on those stock tires being somewhat capable!! Another good video man!! 👍

Our rock is slick here in VA, so I always replace tires before anything else on my crawlers. For the Ascent, 1.9 Hyrax in Predator compound is the bees knees for the surfaces I run on.

Hyrax are pretty good…I think when I do upgrade my tires ima do something other than the hyrax, ruptures or trenchers. Try another tire out.

Keep running those tires see how good they get, when i bought my first crawler an everest 10 ,the first thing i wanted to do was change the tires but i didn't i cut & sipped them put some weight in them and run them for a long time they are much better now than they were for trailing

Try trimming the outer top edge of the foam. Round it off a little will help the edge flex just a little.

i boiled the stock tires off my ascent and remounted on metal rims with some lead weight and they preformed amazing. i ordered a new set from redcat to replicate and they seem to be a harder compound. did not perform half as well as ones that came with truck. QC issues maybe. idk just fyi.

I ordered the truck which Horizon Hobby has not delivered. I did get Proline 2stage inserts plus Proline Krawler tires. Horizon will deliver when they want (in stock?). Waiting to learn about RC crawling and mods. I am elderly & anxious to keep me out and about.

I would let them scrub in! I changed mine right away. I'm gonna throw them on some beadlocks and give them a try at some point. I live in the northeast so it's alittle different terrain lol. I've been finding that the mickey Thompson baja pro x has been working for me lately. Happy holidays!!

The only reason I ran mine for two days on the stock tires was because my order of ruptures had not arrived, as soon as they did good by stock tires.

Normally stock foams are too soft, but there seem the opposite, I should have paid closer attention to how they felt when I had em pulled apart.

I think the stock tires are actually getting better lately. Foams and wheels definitely need help. And there are stock tires that are probably OK if they were broke in. The tires on the accent seem OK but like you said need some run time on them.

Seeing the behavior of your tires, it seems to me the inserts are just wright for the lugs on them. they should get a bit softer and more grippy after a while. I would try it out on long term use...thanks for your content and the way you do your vids 👌

I’ve only tried the Injora king trekker tires on it other than the stock tires and the king trekker are horrible. The stock redcat tires did way better. Of course a better quality brand of tire would probably do a lot better. Like a JConcepts, Pro-line or even pitbull. I just made a bad choice on some cheap tires.

It comes stock with a Hexfly, not sure the further details. I currently am running the fusion se 2 in 1 brushless motor esc combo. I would HIGHLY recommend.
