Here's are my criteria for ranking each of the missions. 1. Gameplay - Because I'm playing a video game, the gameplay is most important. Missions where you aren't really doing anything but riding your horse, lose some points just because you as the player, aren't really doing anything. 2. Story - How does it fit into the story - If the mission could be cut out without affecting the story, or doesn't do much to advance the story forward, it will also lose some points. 3. Uniqueness - Does the mission have unique points - If a mission has things that aren't availble in the rest of the game, then it moves up. Here's me ranking the rest of the epilogue missions: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpvYnJirg7Vnq7s

@brendanlove97399 ай бұрын
@@slipperydoorknob9950 That’s because you’re not looking at it correctly. They’re not “missions”, they’re exposition and character development. You shouldn’t be bored by the gameplay but engaged in the conversation
@slipperydoorknob99509 ай бұрын
@@brendanlove9739 It’s not character development though. I learned nothing about the black guy in Lagras while I was checking crayfish traps and nor did I care too. These missions are usually actually the complete opposite of character development. The only mission where all you do is walk and talk for most of it that I liked was the one where Arthur talks to rains fall while going up the mountain. That was actual character development. Nobody wants to hold X for an hour while Javier and bill yap about how they have money in blackwater. Some of the John missions are fine because the dialogue is interesting but other than that, those types of “missions” are just irrelevant to the game in general.
@brendanlove97399 ай бұрын
@@slipperydoorknob9950 Maybe I misspoke about them being character moments but they are still important for the world too. When in missions do you slow down and actual appreciate the world. In the crayfish traps mission that’s all you really can do. If that bothers you then it’s not your game. The most important parts of the game are the quiet parts. If everything was just action, gunslinging and rootin’ tootin’, that would get old fast. There has to be variety. But to each their own. There’s the players that blaze through the story and kill everyone in sight because it’s “just a game” and then there’s people who love the world, characters, and setting so much that they relish every moment of it, no matter how quiet or slow it is. Talking about it, I take back what I said, it is still character development. Every time someone opens their mouth that dialogue was written for a purpose for that character. If they are saying something, the devs wrote that line for a reason. The game’s story is so in depth, so much so that people are still breaking it down and trying to figure out different themes and character motivations this many years later. This game would be more boring without fishing with Jack, or going to get Crayfish traps with the Lagras dude, or hunting with Hosea, or guarding a woman’s rights March. That’s what makes the game mean so much more. It’s not just go here and kill some guys and then rinse and repeat. It makes you connect with the characters. In the crayfish mission, that’s the same one where your trying to save a dude from a big ass alligator. Any other game I would’ve just gone through the motions to save the guy and be done with it, but in this I was in the moment, in the world, afraid that the guy would die. And then when you have that guy on your back, the gator starts chasing you to the boat as you slowly run away. There’s so much tension there and part of why it works is because it starts slow and makes you care about the Lagras fishermen. You just gotta try to enjoy those moments for their narrative and cinematic nature, rather than for gameplay. This game transcends being just a game because of how much you connect with the experience. Ok, I’m off my soapbox now

@@thirdhandlv4231 the point of dutch is that by rdr1, his character hasn't changed as much as it has been revealed to be what it was from the start. Dutch in rdr2 is as unhinged and irrational as rdr1 Dutch. In chapter 1 he robs a Cornwall train whilst already on the run because of the Blackwater massacre. He makes stupid, impulsive decisions repeatedly and instead of owning up to his mistakes he twists his own reality to convince himself the reason everything is going to shit is because the gang has "lost faith". By rdr1, his facade is completely gone, and all is left is the unhinged, insane man that was always there from the beginning. Him deciding to try and kill john in the middle of Blackwater for shits and giggles is a decision that is really no different to when he shoots Cornwall in annesburg (Im aware that Dutch had good motivation to kill Cornwall, but his death would realistically only lead to more attention from the authorities, especially considering the fact he did it in a crowded mining town in broad daylight). I feel like most of the Guarma missions are so boring or just terrible because of the setting. The idea of being stranded on an island is great, but the execution could use improvement. There's a lot of things to look at, but it never actually feels worth it to explore, because you don't really find anything interesting. I loved the idea of being in a new setting, but once I realized just how little was actually going on there, I was happy to leave and go back to Van Horn/Shady Belle. My personal fav is blood feuds ancient and modern by far. The fact the entire core of the gang is united in destroying the braithwaites ultimately for good. The scene of the gang walking up the gravel road with the house in the background is probably the most badass scene in the whole gang. Blasting through the entire braithwate house and taking down one of the main antagonists of chapter three. This mission perfectly transitioned the game into the next chapter. Even the ending of the entire gang walking away as the manor burns to the ground behind them is probably the most badass ending to any mission.

Guarma was pretty unique and stood out from the other chapters, In my opinion my rating for 'each' chapter would be -> C6>C5=>C4>C3>C2>C1, C5 may not have been the best one in terms of gameplay, but its story was extremely well executed and it was also unique in which we don't exactly explore but we only see the glimpse of war in other islands other than the endangerment of the Outlaws in the West, and this chapter also explores Dutch's character extremely well, and Guarma's starting and first chapter "Welcome to the New World," was bumpy at first, but then it got extremely well. With "A Fork on the Road,".

One of my all time favorites is country pursuits! The atmosphere of walking through the swamps is so cool and creepy! Especially when you play in first person view.

It’s so funny watching you intentionally do most of the missions the wrong way in the background 😂

some of my favorite missions are just where you do things with other gang memebers, i had a lot fun just hanging with some as we robbed folks my favorite mission was hunting with Charles, it felt personal!! like he was showing Arthur part of his culture!! i didn't feel even slightly bad for strangling that poacher

Unpopular opinion but the mission where you save micah in strawberry is one of my favorite missions, I love micah despite him being a rat and the massive shootout is very fun in my opinion, It gives us more insight into micah being a psychopath and he gives you duel wielding which also bumps it up. A quiet time is in my top five aswell as the saint denis bank robbery. American venom is also in my top 5 if not top 3. And I know they are technically not missions but I love hunting down the legendary animals and making cool stuff from them

I love "The Course of True Love 3" because I use the bit where you're supposed to be walking away from the cousins to practice my quickdraw.

50:19 i think it’s funny how the “replays” lessen the shock value of Johns fake death, like we didn’t play an entire game as just him

In 2 separate play throughs, the last course of true love mission got my horse killed trying to follow the train while I was on it. And it was my favorite horse and the only one in the game.

I kinda liked the last part of Guarma, it was definitely pretty weak compared to most other missions, but really not bad

Hosea is the soundness of mind that Dutch lost completely when Hosea died, i have a feeling that Micah made a deal with the Pinkertons to pave his way to power over Dutch.

I'm started to get offended at the beginning of the video and then I realized I loved every single gle mission in this game. Greatest game ever made and GTA VI will have a very hard time touching it.

Did anyone else notice that in chapter 1 when Mika said we’re not fall I don’t want no fuss and then when he said when you fall, they’ll be a party after John killed there was his wedding

Welcome To The New World should be #1 because it was the closest we've ever seen Dutch and a bit of his gang not being in the wild west (just not on their terms)

But the gameplay is utter trash...
@tju96010 ай бұрын
@NoFlu I can tell just by your profile picture that you're a man of culture and speak nothing but the truth. It's true the gameplay is utter trash, dare I say unnecessary. However, I believe that it shows us that even if Dutch and the gang went to a different country, they'd still have a form of law to deal with and life isn't as easy as growing oranges on Tahiti. Or maybe it is, idk if it's a native plant or if the climate is good for oranges to grow in.

I thought the idea was that you weren’t supposed to believe John was dead after Our Best Selves John gets arrested in the Chapter 4 finale, Dutch claims he had no choice John gets broken out in Visiting Hours, Dutch scolds John in a camp interaction and literally tells him he would leave him to rot in Sisika John also tells Arthur that Dutch was there, and he could’ve done something, but he didn’t, just as he does to Arthur at the end of My Last Boy I think it’s implied that after My Last Boy, the player should no longer trust Dutch anymore and therefore NOT believe his lie about not being able to save John in Our Best Selves

I hate how when you try to get gold on certain missions, the time requirement is either ridiculously short or because you can't skip non-cut scene walking and talking sections they feel so long on replay

If you are saying that there shouldn't be so much of riding then tell me what are the two main things in RDR2? Those are fighting and exploring. Riding is one of the most important parts of the game. Surely sometimes it feels a bit boring but it is a open world game! (The best one till now) So what's the point if we don't ride anywhere far and just count on the game to bring a cut scene and skip the journey or skip it using a stagecoach or the train? I never use the fast travel option cause I like to explore the open world. There are random encounters and many more things in the exploration. If game would be just for fights, boom-bam and all, then the game wouldn't be as great as it today. Surely fights make a game so much epic, but the exploration, riding, random encounters, peaceful missions, etc. also play a major role in making a game more fun/epic and memorable. While everyone has their own tastes, perspectives and opinions but still I do hope that you understand.👍

I rather like the "Aftermath of Genesis" mission because of the soundtrack that plays in the background, the conversation between Arthur and Charles, and just the kinda.......... Robert Redford "Jeremiah Johnson" vibes the mission gives to me, especially when the two are riding back to Colter....

Some of Rockstars missions can get a bit boring especially since there is no choice in them its just go from a to b do this and complete the mission.
