Oh yeah no the boyfriend in story 2 absolutely was wanting to show off his hot younger girlfriend and I imagine the coworker gives off major creep vibes and that is why she dislikes him

OP adopted him. Legally she is the parent. Nobody can take him from her, including bio dad

When I was in eighth grade I had a history teacher who couldn’t stand me (he had had my sister two years prior and reminded me routinely that she was a better student). During one quiz, he gave me a zero even though I got every question correct. His reasoning was that I wrote down the answer instead of circling it (it was multiple choice). He said that following directions is the first and most important part.

I once had a breakdown in a playwriting lecture at uni when my professor told me my final script was rubbish (infront of everyone). I broke down crying because of the pressure I was under and now i had to write a completely new script! I feel OPs pain. Edit: he hadn't even read my script hd had only heard my proposal.

The teacher was totally an asshole. 20 points seems so arbitrary and waaaaaayyy too big of a "punishment" to fit the "crime." We don't know if they need a certain grade to secure scholarships, university acceptance, etc. The teacher sounds like an overly rigid, uncompassionate, potential power-tripper who chose the wrong profession

The teacher was obviously an asshole from the beginning. If you hate working for a low wage, get another career. Penalizing a student who clearly works hard enough to earn a 95 defeats the purpose of teaching. And you shouldn't be shocked by the edit. Any teacher deducting 20 points for something not related to the lesson plan is in the wrong profession because he takes actual joy in making his student's lives difficult 👀 he is not invested in their future success. I was in college when my grandmother passed, and I had to leave class in the middle of a quiz to vomit. My teacher didn't penalize me, and I was allowed to retake all quizzes missed while out of town for the funeral. That was for College level Organic Chemistry 👀 The difference is that my teacher actually cared about his students, and my good grades (I received an A in that class) actually earned me some grace.🤷‍♀️

In the story with the adopted kid, I feel like the dad might have resented that kid for a life he could have had and that’s why he reacted like that… Maybe he took that as a way out and that’s a really shitty move to do… really glad to know that the mom (OP) is staying with the son. They are a family and that’s all that matters

For anyone that didn’t get the wicked reference, the main character, elphaba, was an affair baby. Her mom had an affair with another man while the husband was on a trip. The husband never found out about affair but basically wanted to disowned elphaba because she was green (and the husband also treated his wife poorly afterwards over time which eventually caused her passing). Won’t say much else cuz it’ll spoil the rest of story but when you hear the first song from the musical it also gives that context. But yea that husband from the Reddit story can eat rocks, he’s a hypocrite for immediately wanting to disown the son after knowing it wasn’t biologically his when the bio mom also did that shit.

32:19 Whoever wrote this response has CLEARLY never waited a table IN THEIR LIFE. Fellow Servers, Bartenders, and veterans of these holy wars, gather 'round the fire. Tits out if you've cried in the walk-in; can tell who put which dent in the door of said walk-in, etc. I, personally, applaud her for ONLY crying. It's tough out there! 🖤🌹

The bedroom story, made me think Gisèle Pelicot this guy is just letting people into his significant other’s bedroom while she’s in bed? Glad she got out.

There was also another case of a boyfriend who “traded places” in the dark with his college dorm buddy when he was supposed to be having intimate time with his gf.. he would make it pitch black and then trade so she didn’t know it wasn’t him anymore. This was several years ago. I can’t remember the exact details but it was a big deal because it was a huge debate on consent.

For the story about the name on the quiz: 20 points to crazy and excessive! Sure, if you’re in a calm state of mind, the first thing you do is write your name on the test. However, if you are in a high pressure, timed situation like OP, your name is the last thing in your mind. PLUS, OP told the teacher that they forgot their name. 20 off is cruel

The boys were WAYYY to mean to OP. I get what Sean was saying about teachers being underpaid but that’s not an excuse to be rude.

AH for having a "mental breakdown" for getting points deducted because you didn't stay in the time limit? AH - no. A whiny drama queen who haven't learned to keep their emotions in check in highschool? Yes! Edit: crying because someone passed is different. But she didn't mention this in her story.

It is hard to not score 130+ on those tests. 131 sounds low tbh I always get "140+ pay to do more extensive testing" and I am far from a genius I bet my mentally disabled brother could score 130 one one of those tests😂

The funniest thing is that people tend to gravitate towards people of similar IQs (with a few exceptions), so the whole friend group probably have comparable IQs.
