Alison has been my favorite vocalist since I was 12. I’m now 42 and lost my little brother suddenly last October at 38. I’ve always loved this song, but it takes on a whole new meaning when you’re begging to just get through another month so you can “start again” when it comes to trying to be a normal person in the midst of grief.

And of course the tune its self was written by Neil Gow, from Dunkeld in Scotland in the 18th Century. Its called "Neil Gow's Lament for the death of his Second Wife" , Alisons singing and Natalies Playing (with the band) just make it there own and take it to another level. Awesome,

Just watching her performances with others, listening to other professionals talk about her, seeing the number of professionals who want her, reading articles and comments from ordinary people--she is an incredible person. I'm watching her watch Natalie....full appreciation. For Natalie's story to happen, it means that when she met Alison at the workshop, Alison didn't competitively size up Natalie and say something like "I sing too". We need to implement a class in our school curriculums and call it "Alison 101".
