Just didn’t get a clear answer. Can a H1B employee employed elsewhere starts a business on his own (apart from his regular job), not a speciality business, like open a restaurant ? If so what are the requirements?

This is an opportunity for talented individuals to get out of the bonded slavery

Key difference: H1b money with benefits is a choice. Slavery: forced and not a choice.

What is slavery? Getting paid H1B wages, not working for free

@ nobody owns a person in the name of ‘employment’. If a person is talented and have skills they should be able to move and work for anyone including on their own. We know how desi consultancies ( body shoppers) loot H1Bs. By and large H1B program is abused by Indians and Indian companies. It’s a fact. Deal with it

Well Explained, Thanks a lot. Quick Question- How it is going to affect current relationships with the H1B Sponsoring Company, because working 40 hrs for them is mandatory to make money and then run your own company in meantime will be exhausting ? And H1B sponsoring company should agree to allow to work on your own company which will be less than 50%. With no speciality occupation work??

It’s better if the new government do something about the processing of Green cards who waiting for years. Please take out the countrywide quota. It’s been 10 plus years we are in US, paying the taxes and all, and no hope to get the Green Card and uncertainty in life.

Paying taxes? Would you pay taxes on non-us earned income? Its not charity or any favor you are doing by paying taxes. If you were not willing to pay those taxes, you wouldn’t have US income or this opportunity

Earning in US, everyone should pay tax.

Just wanted to check is there any impact on currently pending H1B applications filed on August 14th, 2024 due to new USCIS regulations?

Some company owners hire and hold hostage workers by taking their documents and keeping them in a run around for decades with shyster lawyers.

Very good for creative entrepreneurs. No need to depend on others to try your business idea, if you have funding.

What about h1b holders. Can they become owners or directors of the company ? Can anyone in the perm process get converted to this ….

Corporate law and immigration law are complex to navigate but you should plan to go by the rule book. Sole proprietorship

I am doing my business in China and I have 2.5 years left on h1b visa. Can I move my company to the U.S and sponsor my own h1b visa?
@dizhou51403 күн бұрын
Another reason is that I don’t feel safe when I am doing my business in China. Government here doesn’t like my business.

Current law bars H1B visa holders from running a Business. Truth is, they are already running businesses. This new rule only opens up avenues to find loop holes and stay longer. you can sense that frm comments below on how to use the excuse. Isnt KZbin Vlogging a business? It is money earned in the US and many H1Bs are doing it.

Can we register company and run it on h1b visa as a owner. But not sponsor ourselves as a employee in the company?
@SrikanthPRABHA73 күн бұрын
Why you wouldn’t want to do it
@Nis_k3 күн бұрын
@SrikanthPRABHA7 why spend 5000$ or more for just sponsoring ourselves just for 18months, 18months, every 3 yrs without getting not profit of 100$ on business first. That doesn't sound logic to a business mind?
@SrikanthPRABHA73 күн бұрын
@@Nis_k If you’re creating a company for the purpose exploiting H1B provisions to self sponsor then it’s a bad business idea. Actually not a business at all. But if the it’s a genuine business then self sponsorship is a trivial matter. Isn’t it. This is the problem with H1Bs. Always finding loopholes and shortcuts.
@Nis_k3 күн бұрын
Yes, there is no finding loopholes or wantedly benefiting for h1bs if we just start company and run it, right? So without before getting profit, do not want to spend 3,4 months of salary worth hiring an attorney and sponsorship ourself. So can we work ourselves with just company registration, that's my question

@ That’s investment into the business. You expect a business to run without investing? Jesus Christ.
