I can admit the same even as an firm atheist who has studied Christian theology for basically my whole life.... I don't necessarily agree with Redeemed Zoomer on everything (obviously) but he has a great way of "drawing out" abstract concepts that are easy to share with my Pentecostal family members. Videos like this help me reference Christianity from a historical perspective, which is something I wasn't used to learning about growing up in a Charismatic/Pentecostal missionary household. Due to my missionary parents needing to fundraise at many churches, I have attended congregations of almost every denomination and these videos help me connect all the dots between nuanced differences in their beliefs.

@@jdotoz Well, in the Bible Paul said that Scripture is sufficient for the edification of the Church and for ALL good works. Peter already referred to what Paul wrote as scripture, indicating that the apostles already equated his writings with the same level of authority as the writings of the Old Testament. The Pharisees, who were the religious authority of the time, appealed to an oral tradition that dates back to the time of Moses, and Jesus always refuted them with Scripture and saying things like "it is written", "have you not read it?" and "the Word of God cannot be broken." In the Primitive Church, Gnostics and other Heretics appealed to teachings that they supposedly received from the apostles in addition to Scripture, and the Church fathers countered with the Scripture of the New Testament. In Catechetical Cathecism, while speaking about the Holy Spirit, Cyril of Jerusalem went so far as to say that we could not say absolutely anything that had not already been revealed in Scripture. Since the first centuries of the Churches, bishops disagreed among themselves about what oral tradition was and, to this day, despite appealing to the same oral tradition, Catholics and Orthodox have very different theologies, adhere to different Ecumenical Councils and have different Canons. I stand with the Apostle Paul on the sufficiency of Scripture.

Hi there. I have a bachelors in biblical history. Just a couple of important facts that were incorrect around 2:50 . The Pharisees were not the leaders of the temple; that was the Saducees. The Pharisees were more like religious scholars or proto-Rabbis. Also, it was not the temple authority which killed Jesus, it was the Roman authority. The Romans were trying to placate the anti-Jesus crowd.

I like your video style. I think you're very, very talented. Since this is Chapter 1, and your thumbnail did say the one thing all denominations agree on, I do think we should look at … Love. We can have all hermeneutical hypotheses of proper theological timelines but if we do not have love, we have failed, as I think Paul would agree and mentions regularly in his epistles Jesus Christ said, if we love him, we will follow his command, and that is to love. Jesus Christ is our Savior, but he is also our Lord and Savior. We cannot forget the Lord part, and the Lord gives a command, and that command is to love. Everything hinges upon love. Number one is love, and actually everything is hung below that. Jesus has set this hierarchy himself in all the gospels . This is our command. I am grateful for salvation. I am grateful for the ability to study historical details. However, I am aware that it is possible for Christians to get caught up in religious detail while forgetting love, so I do think it is important for us all to resonate on love and ask the deep questions of what is love, and why did Jesus say everything else was hung upon it? How can we approach our metaphysical perspectives with this as our most prime focus? As the thumbnail begs the question, what do all denominations agree on? I do believe the vast majority believe that Jesus Christ himself places a hierarchy with greatest thing that we can do in whatever free will we do have is….. to love with our mind, heart strength, and soul

You failed to inform people that the apostles’ authority was succeeded. You don’t want to inform that piece on information because in the end the authorities are traced back to the Catholic Church

Apostolic succession still exists in protestant churches. We left the roman church because they erred
