I am truly mortified. I put this on because I recognize that I’m falling into a pattern. I’ve stopped resisting because I was choosing sin over God. Pursuing my good pleasure. I keep crying saying I don’t know what to do but God says I do. The responsibility is on me to take up my armor and fight. My sin is rooted in my hurt and damage. I want to give it to God and be healed. I want to fight again. Your words cut me deep and I’m going to examine myself. ❤

Watching from Illinois. Thank you for this insightful teaching. I love how everyone contributes and each one respects his brother in the Lord. What an example.

Mary Poppins , in the chapter Michael’s Bad Day, there’s a description of Michael ‘Hugging his badness to himself as though it were a friend, and not caring a bit.’ Always worth recalling when up to no good.

When we sin….God is showing us evil in us. Light exposing the darkness. Giving us opportunity to repent. Often the root is a lie we believe still. So we have to repent/confess and ask for wisdom and grace to overcome. Some sins are deeply entrenched. Take longer to overcome.

It's not just the heart, it's the flesh. Even if we made every right decision to the approval of our parents, teachers, elders, etc. We would still be sinners in need of redemption. The issues of our unrighteous heart is tied to our unrighteous thoughts. I used to wonder why the Armour of God was so important, and now I understand. We open a door to sinful behavior when we give way to thoughts, speech, and behavior that is not right with God. Our sinful bodies are temporal, our soul is forever, which is why the gospel is vital. It's the most important thing in the whole world. It's so important, and the devil knows this, that it's often surrounded by a bodyguard of lies.

It was not until I realized in horror that I was indeed placing my habitual sin on an altar and worshiping it, was I able to gain victory over it. Christ is sovereign over all. 🙌
