While we have unlocked the potential of a single atom we have yet to unlock the full potential of wise, loving and compassionate action. The responsibility to do so does not belong to someone other than each of us. For it is we who posses capacities of loving and wisdom seldom fully realized or embodied in the world of time and space.
At the core of the spiritual heart lies two paradoxical instincts. One is the upward movement of transcendence and wakening up to reality, while the other is of the power and grace of redeeming love and the experience of unity as it expresses itself in the world of time and space. A full and inclusive spiritual life will take full account of both of these paradoxical spiritual instincts. For in the end we are called to wake up from the over identification with form, as well as to re-embrace and re-embody the grace of our true nature in and as the world of form.
Our world is full of challenges and tragedies, opportunities and unlimited potential. To meet these challenges, both personal and collective, we need to act not from fear, resentment and conflict, but from love and wisdom. We need to experience and embody the power and presence of redemptive love.
Redemptive love is an experience of love, given by grace, that at once redeems, meaning that it restores something or someone to their natural condition of wholeness. Redemptive love also seeks to be embodied in our humanity and challenges each of us to embody its grace in the very depths and actions of our humanity. Redemptive love is a love that is fully committed to being a wise and benevolent presence in the relative world for the benefit of all beings.
Whenever and wherever redemptive love is present and embodied in our lives there is the fire of grace alive and active, and life is experienced as containing great meaning and purpose. The circle of spiritual awakening is completed only by literally re-embodying the spirit of awakened wisdom and love in and as our human life. Thus the redemptive power of love can become embodied and in-formed, and pour itself out upon the world.

At military bootcamp, identity is annihilated; and, just before what is aware realizes that it is nothing lasting forever, the identity is replaced with other identity. Buddha bootcamp is the same process, only without the replacement of displacement of what is aware with imaginary expression of you - with expression which you aren't even in.

I have a question. Is it wrong for me to enjoy training and maintaining a good body but doing spiritual practices at the same time? will the body image stuff hurt me? or can i find a balance between the two, can i enjoy this and perfect this physical body and be on the spiritual path also?

You can do both, but your attachment and identification to the body and the body image must be let go of eventually if you want to be free. Just like any artform or sport. There’s enjoyment there but it also tends to become a part of ones identity. We’ve all seen artists/athletes with huge egos. Just keep doing both, realize that ‘perfecting’ the body won’t make you happy in the future. Realize you are complete now, be filled with joy, and then out of that joy do the activites you love. I have a bodybuilding background myself. And part of it is a love for the human form, another is the love of being a sculptor, an artist. You just have to be aware of the narcissist in you. hope that helps

You have a certain duty towards health for your body by being a human. That doesn't contradict spirituality. As for heavier training? If you can do it knowing you are NOT the body but considering it as part of your Dharma or Path due to situation and particular skills - then of course you can do that and enjoy it, as one would enjoy anything in that way. God expressing Godself through the body? Sure!

Well, only you yourself can answer this question. Just watch the ego utilizese whatever it strives for in the idle attempted to complete itself. But out of the two mentioned above , spiritual practice is IMHO the way bigger hindrances to self-realization than doing some innocent pushups. They are just your ordinary everyday delusion that there really is something to achieve. Spiritual practice on the other hand is delusion in a delusion. 😆😅😂😘

What he's trying to say is that even though he had a bad experience at a retreat, he can't remember what it was and he was very young so didn't know any better, sooooooooo.......don't think you shouldn't go to his retreats because his retreats are enjoyable and it was only his foolishness that caused him not to enjoy the retreat. If your retreat is bad that's on you. Not him and his wife. People love his ego. He's the spiritual guy you wish you could be just like. Macho, competitive, good looking and yet awakened. It's definitely nothing he says. And I notice other wanna be teachers will sometimes mention some association with him, like maybe they could be standing on the edge of his spotlight. @@garypuckettmuse have you met him? I did a weekend retreat with him once, and just being in his presence was very powerful. I can’t remember what was discussed, but I don’t rate spiritual teachers so much based on that. But if their presence brings me into a still space, with no effort on my part - I do rate that highly. You can’t bullshit with that. Same with meting Eckhart Tolle - the stillness around him was palpable
