Complete Crawl through of the 2024 Redesigned Prevost H3-45. I recorded this live at the 2023 UMA Motorcoach Expo. The Live feed had a lot of Internet interruptions. This version is the smoother one without internet feed issues. Straight from my hard drive. Also I got to interview the President of Prevost, Francois Tremblay.

👌 wow! I drive a school route and charters in rural New South Wales just outside Canberra, Australia. I have a bus assigned to the school route which I have named "Sugar". She's a Volgren, Volvo powered, B8R euro 5, 7.4m. Poor old girl has had quite a few drivers over the years and a few bumps of which I have contributed only two extra. As a new driver at it only 6mth now, I love the job. I have a heavy vehicle licence for 9 speed manual trucks or the heavy coaches, but want the experience working with the lighter buses like Sugar. I'm looking forward to the challenge of driving and planning route with the coaches. It keeps you on your toes!

The cover piece over the steering wheel dash compartment is actually a driver assistant. When you follow to close it will flash a red light on the windshield to grab your attention about your following distance. The company I work for Goldshield just purchased 6 2023 Prevost H3-45 and they have it.

I never understand the opening outward entrance door. I much prefer the European sliding door, like Mercedes and Setra has. It’s too easy to slam people awaiting or a high curb in the way, but you’ve got to love the luggage space.

It’s easier to maintain and the door acts as a handrail to assist North Americans in boarding, because apparently they don’t know how to get on and off busses like Europeans

Very beautiful redesign. I absolutely love the entry door, button/switch change, & the steering wheel. Side note, as a born Floridian, I'm glad to see that Candies survived & is thriving. Unfortunately, my former employer didn't make it.

Wow, motorcoaches have come a long way since the 1959 Flxible Hi-Level and 1961 GM PD 4106 buses I used to drive! I agree with you on the MCI J vibe for the front side. Thanks for the video!

Reminds me of "Tron" styling in front, the driver's side window looks kinda looks like an MCI or even a Setra! Hey, I like the cupholders in the old H3 45, looks like an MCI on the cupholder, hopefully it works better!! I love the camera mirrors and the monitors at the driver's seat on both sides! The seats look cool, but they look stiff and uncomfortable... Hopefully they are softer than they look! Thanks for the video, my boss left me in town, so I couldn't go!!

"It almost looks like an MCI upfront". I thought the same thing, just before you said it. The MCI Js front end is much more streamlined than the old H3s were. This is probably Prevost's response to that.

Sharp looking front end! Interesting to see the steering wheel from the Volvo VNL being used here now. I'm glad the interior seems brighter now that the ceiling is white. Curious if that glareshield piece is actually a HUD too (this bus seems to be kitted out with all the tech you can get)!

@@MotorcoachWorld Yes!! I think the new lowered black trim on the front is what makes it similar to the J's. I think it looks really sharp and I like the new LED DRL design. Prevost did a really good job on the body design

very nice coach,great interior,but only a few small problems and they are in the drivers area,for starters the digital mirrors are in the wrong place,from day one of driver training we are taught left mirror right mirror blindspot,and trained to move our head to look at the mirrors,also what happens when the mirror cams fail is there a backup for off side mirror?.and the most important thing of all the steering wheel is on the wrong side, for me any ways,but apart from those it is a very nice coach

Has anyone else noticed the steering wheel is virtually a carbon copy of the Volvo steering wheel found in prime movers (trucks as we call them in Australia)? Also the rectangular thing on top of the dashboard looks like a warning light for collisions. The Volvo prime mover I drive for a trucking company I work for occasionally has them - it lights up red flashing on the windscreen so you can see it with an audible alarm if you get too close to the vehicle in front of you.

Prevosts are basically Volvos throughout. Slightly different chassis but the engine and drivetrain are the same.

Very interesting design choices. Agree with the initial "it looks like an MCI" reaction; not sure how to feel about that, but it does look good! Will be interesting to see these on the road, and what kinds of seating operators actually end up choosing, cause in my experience that is mostly what average passengers notice. The washroom positioning must vary, as that is not what I see typically on most H3-45s (tour+line). Thanks for the tour!

I wonder if the resemblance to the MCI was dictated by the need to improve aerodynamics. Given the essential requirement to carry 50+ people in comfort, the basic form of a bus needs to be a big, long box. This severely limits what you can do to make a bus aerodynamic. For example, wind-tunnel testing may have shown the rake of the windshield is the best compromise between aerodynamics and the comfort of passengers entering or exiting. And so the front ends up looking like an MCI.

Prévost or Prevost is the lastname of the founder of The company was sold to Henleys 50% (U.K.) and Volvo (Sweden) 50% Prévost is in the Same familly with Nova Bus. they share the Frame Factory of course the finition and end usage and design is not the same one is a Coach Prévost the other is an Urban Bus (Nova Bus) they are build in to different factory. Both company originated from the Province of Québec in Canada. But Nova Bus has a plant in Upstate New York (Near Plattsburgh for the American Market)

Well, redisigned or not, it's an H3-45. How good it is you will find out on the road and not in a show. How the dash will work with all the new switches remains to be seen. Has anything been done to keep the dirt and snow off the back? Sure does not look like. All the stuff that is coming down still goes right in, no changes. So let this thing be on the road for a couple of years and find out

You pay top dollar for a coach, held together with glue and zip ties, then take it in for service and expect the best, which the techs strive to provide, but prevost needs to step up their technician pay scale to keep the knowledge in house

This maybe a different bus. The storage bins no longer show a frame support running along at the top. That seemingly small change may mean it has a new chassis. The front end of the bus now has hood access to the windshield wiper motor. They've increased the defrost 37% over the previous model. The bumper area is much easier to repair after a minor impact. Those changes indicate there is a new front end structure.
