It’s really exciting to see you develop a falcon that is between system scale and the UCS set. I was hoping to see this someday since the UCS is too big and the system scale has that canopy that is out of scale. The details look amazing so far. Look forward to seeing more updates in the future.

I dropped off the idea of getting the cockpit the correct size compared to the falcon a long time ago when I tried to do a custom model of roughly thez same size as the playset. If I wanted to get the cockpit of the correct size, I would have to considerably reduce its size, and it would be able to fit only one minifig, and maybe not even sitting properly, with a lot of custom techniques to build the cockpit itself (like the UCS 2007 model) I had the 7965 model, and had it considerable modified, I decided to scrap it, buy the 75257 model and go from there as the shape was way more acurate and trying to re_invent the wheel is not my favourite hobby. I have a decently detailed model now that satisfies me even though the cockpit is too big, but that's a compromise I'm willing to make. Since I got through that, I can appreciate the amount of work you're putting for your own model, I was already very impressed by your first model and I can't wait to see where this one is going !

@CoreFlux3 жыл бұрын
Amazing, you keep making MOC's I want to build! Keen to see what inside designs you come up with, still disappointed the UCS had so little on the inside, I felt your Mantis already delivered better in that department. So sizewise, this will be between the UCS and playscale then, or will this be as large as the official UCS model?
@2bricks3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah it’s definitely an in-between size! The cockpit here is an 8x8 circle, as is the rectenna dish, and the UCS one is 10X10 - that may not sound like a huge difference but it’s quite a bit when you extrapolate to the whole model
@Hellstorm11902 жыл бұрын
Are you going to sell the instructions once it's finished? Looks amazing so far 👍 I've done my own mod on the 75105 version of the falcon, but I feel like it's never finished and I just want to keep tinkering on it until I deem it perfect 😅 My biggest problem is the cockpit, I cant figure out how to better attach it to the rest of the ship and really how to build the insides so that it looks even a little bit like it should and the figures actually would fit In, I'm not really good at figuring out different techniques and all that, I just build what I can from the pieces that I have..

Hey why don't you work at LEGO? ;-) It would bei great, if you could tell something or mention that in the description, how many and which parts you use for the "main construktion" and how many parts are for detailing. Also for your first falcon. Great work at all. Thx for that.

This is amazing and I can't believe I'm just seeing this. How did you scale those blueprints to match the right size?
@2bricks2 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I used photoshop to match the cockpit size to the real dimensions of the Lego cockpit piece - there’s a really handy tool if you google “Lego unit converter” that lets you put in any measurement and convert it between stud length, inches, mm or whatever and that helped me know the right size to put in!

@@2bricks I totally underdstand and youre ofcourse totally right. In my case, ive had a facination with 20th century ocean liners since i was a kid, so when lego came out with this set, i just had to get it as soon as possible.

What will be the dimensions of this new model? How will it compare to the UCS version in terms of size and accuracy?
@2bricks3 жыл бұрын
It will be almost exactly half way between the lego play sets and the UCS model - I don’t know the dimensions off-hand though. In terms of accuracy, it will be more accurate and detailed than the ucs one, and way more sturdy!
@jacor6533 жыл бұрын
@@2bricks I think the reason why the UCS version isn't as sturdy as it could be is just because it is so big. I have that set, and when I go to move it or pick it up (which isn't often), I can feel it flexing a bit. Yours might be more sturdy because of the simple fact that it is smaller.
@2bricks3 жыл бұрын
Exactly! Plus I’m going to be using as many parts as is necessary regardless of cost whereas lego has a very tight parts budget.
@mandalortemaan75103 жыл бұрын
So, you're goal is to put the gigantic UCS to shame by how amazing a smaller one is?
@2bricks3 жыл бұрын
Accurate. Hahaha. Really my goal is to have a Millennium Falcon that I enjoy displaying and also playing with, and that won’t cost me another $800 lol
