ay den Aaand they need money. And it depends on who your buying it from. If people really want cheap tampons you can literally get them for two dollars. And think about the fact the cotton and the string has to be bought, and then put together. Someone’s got to pay for the time it takes to make and wrap them too. What I genuinely don’t understand is why the packaging being pink is such a big deal? I think a better way would be to deconstruct those stereotypes we have about colours and stop making men feel like pink is a female colour. I personally feel like making packages yellow to be more inclusive only enforces gender stereotypes. I think companies should rather diversify their “male” products, make them more colourful etc. But saying this product shouldnt be pink bc trans men are also using it, just re-enforces that pink products shouldnt be used by men. Edit: That’s not to say that their packaging isn’t extremely ugly lmao, yours is def much more visually appealing.
@davidkonevky73725 жыл бұрын
Basically, you want this type of thing for male products right?
@alianyuu25175 жыл бұрын
the thing is, the brand most likely used pink as a feminine color for marketing.
@victoriarotramel22745 жыл бұрын
In this case, Unilever is a gigantic corporation and very rarely redesigns their products. It's considered risky to radically change a product's packaging as repeat customers may have difficulty identifying the item on the shelf, and then choose something else. It's only within the last 10 years that changing your branding to be less stereotypical is almost expected, let alone acceptable.

@RawrShrimp i heard that it was a queen that made pink a feminine color, bc actually blue used to be a feminine color and pink a masculine one and then that queen started to wear pink bc she wanted to show that she could run the country like a man (what I mean is that she wanted to show that her gender has nothing to do with the way she runs the country) and since then women started to wear pink (sorry for my poor English)

Maybe we could just stop viewing pink as inherently "feminine". It's just a color.
@kmar15585 жыл бұрын
yes, however unfortunately large corporations view pink as a feminine color and intentionally use it to market to women. this is also why the luxury tax on menstrual products is called the "pink tax." hopefully one day pink will just be viewed as a color without feminine connotations :)
