This is great news! Excellent content!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 There should be ferries from Montego bay to Ochi and water taxis to go to Discovery Bay Runaway Bay, Richmond, Mammee Bay, Dunn's River Falls, different points in St Mary, Ochi Bay Beach etc.,

I hope this plan is executed because Ochi is disgusting and embarrassing. They also need to offer respectable and reliable public transportation for tourist and locals. That's because there are no taxis there and people who are staying in vacation rentals have no other way to travel other than route taxis and those are not as trust worthy as vber or public buses. They should offer water taxis, ferries, vber and buses. I hope they will do a first world level farmer's market like they have in Martinique, USA and South Africa. It doesn't cost a lot to do this. They just need to improve the standards to include good waste management services and give the vendors neat and clean places to present their goods from.

Ochi looked better when I left over 20 years ago. The stores look like they are frozen in the 90’s. Now it’s overcrowded and looks neglected. I believe it’s overcrowded because of people from the more rural areas who would have been the vendors alongside the route from Kingston to Ochi, including Fern Gully, now have no other resort but to move into the city of Ochi to make a living.

its seams like the government of Jamaica has been dragging their feet for decades because Jamaica should have been developed more than what it is now i hope the next prime minister will

This Prime Minister is doing the development work to make up for what all the previous prime ministers did not do. It’s a lot hope the person who comes after him will continue the work.

Jamaica needs to DECOLONIZE local government to allow the municipal corporations to justify and earn their keep by being able to proactively/more autonomously engage in the development planning of their urban centres without Kingston's patronizing central government bureaucracy playing "god"/spatial dictator at all times... Towards this goal of giving greater degrees of administrative SOVEREIGNTY to rural Jamaica fiscally and technically empowered regional county councils to collectively strengthen the resource smaller/weaker parish based municipal corporations is of value...such change would support the spatial tenet of republicanism given that Jamaica's current excessively centralized UNITARY system of government is a relic of a monarchical system of (Post Morant Bay Rebellion) Crown Colony governance...

Agree been saying that for ages .these parish should have cooperating with each other economically for certain projects . Can you tell me after Jamaica becomes a Republic, will each parish be more autonomous
@garfieldwhittaker9443 ай бұрын
@@Clairemont7893doubt it...Jamaicans are very colonial in their attitude/thinking about local government via their support of the centralized role of Kingston/central government in developing the island's many fast growing communities...

I love the development but at the same time the government seems to concentrate only on tourism and put crime on the back burner. When it reality curbing crime somewhat will increase tourism exponentially

I think they need to fix the sanitary condition in the market immediately, keep the general area clean, put a proper traffic system in place, and provide sufficient parking for visitors. Ocho Rios is my favorite place in JA, but like most cities and towns in the country, they are not clean and very unorganized!

Those powerlines are an eyesore and should be under ground not to mention the old dilapidated buildings. A whole lot more would need to be done to improve the look of this impoverished looking town.

My questions are why it takes so long to redevelop Ocho Rios the most extremely important tourist town or city in Jamaica 🇯🇲, Ocho Rios should always be at the top of the list it is Jamaica center piece and playground, Ocho Rios first for Jamaica 🇯🇲 tourism period

So true. Ocho Rios has the top 3 tourist attractions in Ja. Hotels etc

What major development can take place in Ochio Rios when it lacks proper road infrastructure and INADEQUATE landspace for any major infrastructure development. The town itself was never properly designed.
