My theory is that the people who made this game knew that if they gave Monty a decent dice block, everyone would fight over who got to be him because of how awesome his belly slaps are, so they gave him the lamest dice block in the game.

Fun idea, but not the best way to determine who’s “best”. While not as fun, numbers are numbers, so calculating dice rolls mathematically will do a better job. Again, the tourney is still more fun!

I think they should have unique dice, but they shouldn't be tied to specific characters. I think it'd be cool to be able to pick a character and *then* pick what special dice you want to use.

I've played this game way too much with friends and family, so here's my personnal tier list. This tier list is only for games that last 20 or 30 turns, and doesn't take into account specific boards. Tier SS: 1. Bowser (biggest dice by far, he should be banned) Tier S: 2. Boo 3. Wario (they both have big dices too, not as good as bowser, but still way better than the rest) Tier A: 4. Daisy (she has the best minimal dice roll in the game, which is great to guarantee stars) Tier B: (gambling tier) 5. DK (two 10s, which can help to clutchs some stars, and can get you 5 coins even if it fails) 6. Koopa (only one 10, but he's guaranteed to move at least) 7. Bowser Jr. (only one 9, but he's guaranteed to move too) 8. Pom Pom (only one 8, and a 0, not as good as the others) Tier B-: (baby gambling tier) 9. Diddy Kong (7 or nothing, it's mid) 10. Luigi (Guaranteed to move, but only one 7) 11. Dry Bones (Luigi's dice, but no 7, only 6s) Tier C: 12. Shy Guy (Daisy's dice, but significantly worse because of that 0) 13. Mario (pretty much the base dice, but with more 3s, nothing special) Tier D: (coin tier) 14. Goomba (Best coin dice, but coins don't matter that much to compensate for that weak dice) 15. Rosalina (Like Goomba's, but it's even weaker, and the 8 doesn't compensate for that) 16. Hammer bro. (Would be the worse dice if it wasn't for the +3 coins, which gives it a use case) Tier F: (essencialy useless dices) 17. Monty Mole (the gimmick of this dice gets cancelled by allies, which are the meta in longer games by the way) 18. Peach (weaker than the base dice, but there's a 0, and no big number to compensate at all) 19. Yoshi (even weaker than Peach's, the 7 doesn't compensate for this thing) 20. Waluigi (this dice is just Yoshi's but better, however -3 coins is completely undeserved, and removes any use for this dice)

Technically there is one other Mario party where character affects the board gameplay. In Mario Party 2, if you are playing as Mario, then no matter your position Mario will get the bonus in the last 5 turns if Whomp shows up. This means you have a greater chance of getting the bonus if you play as Mario in that game!

The only thing good about this game were that each character had a special dice block and the allies. Other than that, this game was not that good. Super Mario Party Jamboree is definitely gonna make up for it.

There is another mario party game where there is a difference between the characters, in one of the gamecube mario parties (i think mario party 5) there are character exclusive items that only they can get, it's minor but another example where their can be a tier list lol

My only thing is shouldn’t each character be locked to only using their personal dice? I feel like giving them the opportunity to use an ally’s dice or the original dice defeats the purpose of the experiment. Plus, I feel like it should be on the same map the entire time, it makes the tournament actually fair and I feel like we would get a more realistic result. I was shocked Daisy got cut immediately when her 3-4 dice is one of the most consistent and useful dices in the game (coming from a die hard Rosalina stan, I can admit her dice is a 5/10 maybe 6/10, so I was shocked she got 3rd in the entire tournament).

At least I can see people not hating on Super Mario Party for once. It's not like it's the WORST Mario Party, because Mario Party 9 takes that. I see why people hate it, and I'm happy that Jamboree appears to be the same game if it didn't have it's flaws. I just liked Super Mario Party (unpopular opinion) and it's nice to see people not hating on it
