If you have to add brake fluid you either have a leak or your pads are worn substantially, either way fluid should not be added until the problem is rectified. If your pads are worn and you add fluid when the pads are replaced fluid will spill out due to overfill. If you have a leak that is a dangerous situation and could cause loss of breaking ability. Please don't just add fluid!!!

You are correct, your pads are either low or you may have a leak if the reservoir is exceptionally low. The issue is that for some reason the point at which the sensor gets triggered in these cars seems to be pretty high in the reservoir. My pads were still pretty good and I had no leaks. The light would be triggered while driving because the fluid would move around in the reservoir and trigger the sensor. I 100% agree with you though, I would definitely check the wear on the pads amd make sure there are no leaks.

I had to add brake fluid but not for any of those reasons. Just for the sheer fact that I kept checking the pads while doing tire rotations and I was able to change out just the pads and keep the rotor. So after four times of changing out the pads only I had to add to the reservoir problem with doing that is you don't want to add a lot because when you go to throw new rotors and pads on it will be too much fluid in there

Just keep an eye on it to make sure there isn’t a leak. Usually it’s also low when your brake pads are getting low so keep an eye on the brake pads.

Btw, if the brake fluid is low in the reservoir, your brake pads may be getting low. Keep an eye on them.

The cruise control issue is probably related to the brake controller switch on the brake pedal. I have a video on how to fix that for around $15. The link to the switch you can buy is in the description.

I cleaned all my grounds the one in the front bay the one in the middle by the steps and the one by the gas cap under the car the light was still coming off and on but then I notice that my k&n filter was off and bam light went off crazy right

Yep, Canister stained it looked full but was low. Hit it with a flashlight and showed the real fluid level. Filled it up and it fixed it up!! Thanks Omar nice communication and going through things slow and simple...

I'm pretty sure the stabilitrak very unusual and confusing to replace the brake lines, takes a 1/4 OD brake line front and to the back to the axle. Then there's two 3/16 lines to the calipers. The confusion is in the 5/16 fittings that take a 1/4 line. GM has gone crazy. THE LAST TIME WE DID THIS WE USED COPPER AND THE OLD FITTINGS.

My 2010 esv has been in a shop for about a month now because of this problem. Idk if they know what they’re doing because they said they narrowed it down to cylinder 7 misfiring and nothing was said about the ground or corrosion. Omar's Garage I picked up the ride Saturday and today the stabiltrak and engine light came on. Mechanic told me it was a misfire because the tray was jamming it up due to being old and never replaced. Taking it back tmrw and telling them to start with the coils and plugs and ground cables and speed sensors.

Just keep an eye on the brake fluid level...usually a low brake fluid level means your brake pads are low, you have a leak in the system, or it was just never filled correctly from the beginning.. In my case, the rear pads were getting close to needing change.

Did a lot to my truck I did new fuel pump new canister charcoal canister all the lines are new new spark plugs new wires also did new suspension shocks front and back new calibers because the old ones where sticking I still have to put in a new water pump new cam sensor new cam it's self with the bolt that goes to the cam I also need to change the timing chain man I have so many new parts but looking for time to do all this is hard I also ordered a oil pump too can't wait to get all this done I just want to make her bullet proof again

Make sure to check all the fuses and also it could be the brake fluid level sensor in the actual reservoir that has gone bad. Have you been able to hook a scan tool to the car?

You may have a loose ground. That will display a bunch of different lights. Remove the ground cables and clean them as a first step.

I have an 07 the runs like a champ on the highway but after I drive it about 20 miles and pull off the highway and come to a stop light it will shut off on me then won't turn on right away. do you have any ideas what it could be. Will it drive around normally before you drive 20 miles? Could be something regarding a temperature sensor. When on the highway you are pushing air through the radiator but at idle temperatures will rise instantly. It could be the car shutting off to prevent overheating.

The cruise control is a separate issue that I also repaired in another video I made. It’s a break switch that goes bad and disables the cruise control usually. It’s like a $15 fix. Checkout my other videos.

Check you battery or battery ground. A weak battery or rusty ground could cause electrical issues that can trigger several lights.

jack meeoff use whatever it says on the cap of your brake fluid reservoir. Most new cars use dot 3 or dot 4.

So your brake fluid level is above the minimum? If it is another thing that goes wrong is sometimes you get corrosion on the ground cables. You may need to remove them and clean them with a wire brush and reinstall.

Hopefully this is it. It could also be the sensor in the reservoir. If it’s significantly low keep an eye on it as there could be a leak in your brake system which can be dangerous.

Could be a bad ground. There is a ground cable on the firewall near the brake fluid reservoir that can sometimes get rusted. Remove the screw and clean with a wire brush and see if that helps.

Teddy Evans I’ve you scanned the computer for codes? If you haven’t then you can go to an auto parts store and they will usually do it for free. Check the brake fluid reservoir to see if it’s full. If the sensor that senses the minimum level is bad it can also cause this. There could be many reasons, but that’s what I would check first.

I have a 2005 Cadillac escalade ext I was driving to work and my brake light and TC light came on. Also my dash read service brake system and stability system disabled. I was driving when they came on. I hit my brakes to stop and had none. One of my brake lines ruptured. I read GM used steel lines that corrode for certain years and 2005 was one of those years. I found the busted line and replaced it. I also replaced 3 others as they were rusted also. I replaced the 2 lines from abs module to front wheels and from abs module to master cylinder. I topped off my fluid and bled the brakes. I plan on replacing brake lines that run to the rear wheels as well but I have to drop my fuel tank to do that so I'll save that for another day. Anyways like I said I fixed the leak and everything seems to be good now but, my brake light and TC light are still illuminated on the dash and my dash readout is still saying service brake system and stability system disabled. Will these lights and messages go away on their own or do I have to have them reset? It's been 2 days since I replaced lines and lights still haven't turned off. I dont know if a brake light turns itself off after problem is fixed light a check engine light will or do you have to have it reset even after fixing the problem like a airbag light?

Not sure if it will automatically reset itself. You can try disconnecting the battery and holding the two cables together to discharge and electricity in the system. This will usually reset the computer. Leave it unplugged for a good thirty minutes. See if that works, but the best thing after that would be to use an obdii scanner to check for codes.

@@mrsmokeright i will be driving fine, then all of a sudden the TC light ( Circle with TC ), the other TC LIGHT ( Car with wavy lines ) , and a parking brake light with a little wrench under it. They all turn on at the same time. The service stabiletrak message will appear in the info screen under the MPH gauge. Then I have power loss that gets increasingly worse every time I have to come to a stop ( like at a traffic light ). EX: Car will be preforming just fine when out of no where the Three lights and Error message turn on all at the same time and the car will feel as if it Hard shifts one gear. I then stop at a light, when green I go to accelerate but have 25% power loss. I then stop at another light but this time on accelerating the power loss will be maybe 60%. On the third stop power loss will be at %95 when I go to accelerate, taking about 45 seconds to get up to 20-30 MPH. The engines RPMs during the finale power loss act as if I’m stuck in 1st gear. Once parked the car will not recognize to be in park and will display “Shift to park” error on Info screen. Also the shift letter will normally turn red in the selected position but during this entire event it will not display red. If I let the car rest for 20 or so minutes all errors disappear but resurface after 10 minutes of driving.

FOWLBOYBEATZ Citykey fowlsidefamily that can work if its related to the switch. If you are low on brake fluid it will keep coming back until you top off the brake fluid. Thanks for the tip though. This could resolve the issue for people who don't have low brake fluid.

@@OmarsGarage I have a 2007 Pontiac Torrent, the brake light came on and I found out that it needed front brake pads. It went off once I changed them, but now it's coming back on. I checked to brake fluid and it's full. Anything else could be causing the light to come on?

Maybe the rear brake pads? Do those have electronic wear sensors on them? That’s the only way they would trigger a brake light.

@@OmarsGarage I don't have electronic wear sensors but i'm sure they need to be changed. Could it still cause this issue ?

It could be several things. The emergency brake may not be all the way down or the sensor that tells the computer that it is all the way down could be bad. It could be the pressure differential switch in the master cylinder. It could be that one of you brake lights is out. These are the common issues. Have you read the codes off of it?
