Government raises interest rates to control inflation. Inflation is now almost at 2% bench mark level but every thing is still expensive. Then what the heck this 2% number actually comes from ? 😅 Government fòoooooooooooool public

Lower rate of inflation does not mean the commodities will get cheaper. That happens during deflation. Lower rate of inflation means that now commodities will get expensive SLOWLY.

@@sunilsaggar6859 It's calculated based on Consumer Price Index. 12 month change in August 2024 in Food was 2.4%, Shelter 5.3% and Transportation -0.1%. Average comes out to be 2% for August 2024. You can get more detailed information on the Statistics Canada website.
