Electric car can never compete with gasoline car. Hybrid is best option. I have worked on battery related equipments (inverters ,Solar Systems) for good 20 years. Lithium battery is good for enregy storage for power outages but I will not buy it for running my car. Charging discharging process involves many parameters that all users can not understand. If lithium batttery is charged with inappropriate charger it can be a fire hazzard. Battery life is another concern because battery life is measured as discharge recharge cycles not in years. Let us say a battery has 1000 charge discharge cycle life. You used the battery 1000 times (discharge recharge) it is scrap now. Installing a car charger is equal to running another stove or cloths dryer because it takes 30 Ampere to charge effectively. It is not male ego Electric vehicle will fail in rural Alberta. There needs to be tough vehicle in Agricuture /Rural areas. The users are more practical in rural areas and they themselves are half mechanic of their own vehicles.
