Well, my jaw IS on the Floor! That anyone can deliver this kind of Quality in a LIVE recording is unheard of. Especially the way Floor is able to play with many different colours and textures and make everyone of them sound absolutely *fabulous* , and is still able to make it sound like one organic whole is simply STUNNING! And for as far as I can see none of the traditional singers like Barbara Spreistand (basically a belter) and Linda Rondstad come even close to Floor.

There is a live version of this version of Fire. It is a part of a studio singing and interview session on a dutch show, as a preview for her recently announced Theatre solo shows in 2025. 3 shows already sold out. This studio recording is really nice as well, and a bit different than the live version I heard. I did like the original version of Fire when it came out. The original music video was the strong declaration for getting off the couch and going back out into the world after covid.

Yes, the TV show is called On Stage from the Dutch channel Vpro. From the same show there is also a video of Irene Jansen performing Rise with Floor watching her. @Red I highly recommend watching that as well for some powerful singing (maybe even for another reaction but I am not sure about possible copyright implications).

Can't deny that I prefer the original version - it's a great opening song for her solo concerts that really gets the crowd going. But still, if Floor released a video of her reading the terms and conditions of membership to a bowling club, I'd still watch it and enjoy it.

I agree, this stripped down version is better than the original. Good that Floor published it. My only criticism on Floor's first album was not her singing, but the production quality of some of the songs. I saw by the way, also a live version on YT. Didn't watch it, but I thought I would alert you to it because as per usual, Floor is even better live. Next year she will give theater shows in the Netherlands. Just because she never did that before (in Dutch, I am afraid for all non Dutch speakers).

Well I'm about to be the negative Nancy ☺️ So I only know this artist by reaction videos and haven't heard anything to urge me to search for a actual video. Maybe the right song through my Tower speakers if anyone has a suggestion!!?? My jaw is not on the Floor with her!! 😉 One big thing I listen for is vocals that play with timing like KD Lang, Barbara Streisand, Linda Ronstadt and Morgan James and Jazz singers. Depends on what you like in a vocalist. The thing is, with Floor, she has sung so many different songs, there's always something for the picky listener. Since you like Brittney of UTA, listen to ReVamp, Floor's band that she created and did most of the writing. Very, very different from this song. "Wildcard" would be a good first choice.
