Seriously though! This 100% should have replaced “These are the Ways” which is a decent song, but it’s a horrible track that they chose to perform live like they did on Jimmy Kimmel, Fallon, and the Howard Stern radio show. Those vocals are just hard for Anthony to nail playing live. This one would have been perfect for him and the energy it brings is better than “These are the Ways” in my opinion. Oh well, I’m just happy they created this ❤️

We get how good he is. However, it gets POWERFULLY cringe at how nut hugger it gets with him. There will be a solo where John just plucks one note and the next day there will be a reddit post about how only God could make a plucked note sound that good. Then some other nerd would say, "that's because he is God." Seriously it's gotten weird.

Very few songs are able to invoke such specific feeling in me, but when I listen to this track, I imagine walking home in the snow carrying the lifeless body of someone I loved dearly while memories flood through my head. It invokes every feeling of hopelessness and happiness in me at the same time, in a distant future reminiscing upon a past that hasn't even happened yet. I was listening to the album last night and most of the album was admittedly meh and there were some pretty good tracks but Carry Me Home was the first song in a very, very long time that instantly made me cry. There's something incredibly poetic about it that I can't describe with words, as if the song itself is weeping and I am unable to comfort it in its moment of helplessness before being snuffed out. The only band I know that can create such vivid feelings in 3 to 4 minutes of song is the Red Hot Chili Peppers, thank god they're still around after 40 some-odd years. Love you guys.

I read a comment that caught my attention and intrigued me a little: "If Hendrix was on vacation in California with the Beatles, they would have composed this song." I love music with all my heart, I love RHCP, The Beatles, Hendrix, hundreds of artists from the 40's to the present, and that comment makes some sense, and when listening to it, I felt the essence of The Beatles and the hendrix style The melody is something you'd expect the Beatles to do, and Hendrix's solo, but at the same time you feel the RHCP style, it's a subliminal mix, Anthony's lyrics, Oh my God, I'm 20 years old, and really RHCP, no. They have aged, on the contrary, they have reached a point of rejuvenation and that relieves me a lot, because there is little quality music left.
