Paddles for bouncing have a delay. Try the bumpers! The paddles can be used for switching weapons.

Have you ever thought about doing tournament alt? That's what I used to play with. Left bumper doesn't seem such a pain to use unless bumpers is issue for you.

I play on tour+alt with claw and have paddles, I use my left paddle for tac-com, right paddle for reload an spotting opp, it feels OP to me, I’d say give that a try but your still learning paddles on class+alt, hope everything goes well though icy!!!
