I've owned a Redington run and a lamson liquid... the Redington is a way better reel than the lamson!! Hands down... so if I didn't already own a couple Ross reels, than this would be what I'd be buying.

price is good for what it is.... then you got the custom ables that can go up to 1500$ depending what sizes ect.... i think the right price for this is fare and i think the high ones should stay to 500 to 700$ imo well built and quality should last you a life time when taken care of and no need to buy so many reels and rods lol but its so tempting to buy more

Great review! Would you recommend this or the Grande for a primarily bonefish reel? I have a grande and love it, but in need of another reel and wondering if this is a better option. Thanks!

Bonefish no problem with this reel, but I think long term dollar wise the Grande is a smart buy. Best saltwater reel for the money IMO!

Yes they've dropped the Rise dynasty, and the ACE is their new machined aluminum reel.

@@redsflyshop that sucks, the Rise 3s were great and cheaper than this new model. Hopefully i can snag another one on close out, i have 2 5/6's already with an extra spool each, lol. Cant beat that sealed drag at that price. Do you guys have any 5/6's in olive left? Either the reel or just the spool? Thanks

A trout reel above about $300 is only because you want it, not because you need it to land a trout. This looks like it could be a good one

That's a very reasonable comment, too many people don't acknowledge there is some "want" just like a fine watch vs. some piece of disposable junk. Both tell time, some you are just more fond of and there's nothing wrong with that.

Spool is too wide in the smaller sizes, if they kept it to a tad under 1" i would consider it.

I hear that, but I think that this fits in for someone that wants machined aluminum, which is much stronger and tends to last longer (subject to abuse) and machining provides the finest tolerances vs. cast.
