I've been watching a lot of YT videos trying to plan out my DIY yard drain; and I'll be using those exact products as well. My question comes from another video I watched, it said it is best to put a few weep holes in the bottom of the catch basins and install them over 6" of gravel, so that water does not sit in the bottom of them after a rain. Now being in Florida, you know how fast mosquitos grow in stagnant water, what is your opinion on that process? And also, I noticed you didn't measure the pipe depth for slope, is that not necessary? Thanks for any info you can tell me. I'm in Brandon, not too far from you guys.

@@SheilaSpencer1 definitely recommend drilling holes and using rock below the basements, if the soil is soft enough to let the water percolate. Where you are it likely is. Most jobs up here north of tampa are solid clay. We rarely check the pipe for slope. Our rule of thumb: if we can’t visually tell that the pipe is going down, it’s not going down enough. You can always water test it as you go, just fill the start with some water and make sure it flows down!

Just curious, how come you decided to put the popup emitter right at the gate? Isn’t it going to soften and muddy that area?
