I love your jigs etc. The biscuit tin & windscreen wiper motor at the end was priceless :)

I don't have a band saw, so I made the 10mmx18mm rectangular stock, and cut 8mm pieces and then cut them diagonally with a chisel. This was my first time making them, and they are not 100% perfect, but will work for my first build.

I ordered a bunch of peones online and after checking them one by one found 3/4 is useless or very ugly. Thanks to your video I am making perfect peones to my liking, all equal and cosmetically beautiful! Thank you so much for again another great lesson :-)

Thank you for this detailed video. I have only used kerfing strips and I have a question about the 95 degree angle for the lower peones. I believe you said in another video that you use a top radius of 25'. If the width of the lower bout is 15" (say) then I come up with an angle at the side of 92.1 degrees. Because the angle will vary around the entire edge is the 95 degree angle actually necessary? It would seem that cutting to 92 degrees and then touching up as necessary before gluing them down would give a better fit. But as I say, I've never built this way.

Hi Pablo, thanks for so many great videos. I'm wondering why the peones couldn't be a solid strip of wood bent to the curvature of the sides, just like you use on the back. Thanks!
@redkitekk7 жыл бұрын
Hi Ben, Of course you could do it that way, in fact many makers do. I just like doing the individual peones as this is in keeping with the traditional Spanish method of construction, and I also find it is easier to get a good bond between the sides and the top.

thank you mr Pablo would not sand in the tumbler work to polish the peones ?

Excelente amigo. Cada video es mejor y super explicado...

I am astonished to find that you use almost exactly the same method as myself to make peones, although I start with a rectangular section and simply run it through the drum sander, using the same type of jig as yourself, to form the angle. Your method makes more sense and is less wasteful.

The wood the maestro chooses for peones is the wood I use for my necks...😮😅 For the moment... More practice and more dreaming for me...😊

Very cool. I like the tumbler invention. It would probably work faster if you added in some ultra-fine sand with the pieces.
@redkitekk6 жыл бұрын
You could be right, but I don't like the idea of having to separate the sand from the blocks. Perhaps you can try it and let me know how it goes!!

Ingenious - not convinced the edge of the solera mould is 95 degrees but then...
@redkitekk5 жыл бұрын
Lara Dresden you could measure the angle on your solera as each is a bit different.
