***Important update to Preplanned mode*** Please be aware that the Multi-drop technique used in this video is no longer possible Please see my update to Jdams/jsows: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r32UamZrbb2XrpY DCS has just had a update with a significant change to the JDAM Pre-planned mode. Rather than having just 6 pre-planned targets shared between all pylons we now have 6 pre-planned targets PER pylon. This means you'l need to program each pylon one by one. However this also allows you to rapidly drop up to 4 jdams without changing co-ordinates once setup. JDAMS on dual mounts still share their co-ordinates with the pylon, so if you're dropping from a dual mount, you'l need to program in two sets of co-ordinates, drop one from that pylon, then insure you've selected the second target and drop the second from the same pylon. if you're using multiple dual mount racks insure you're changing the correct pylon's target as it'l select the next pylon automatically. This behaviour will change in the future where dual mount pylons will have both a LEFT and a RIGHT station independent of each other, like single station pylons.

It would seem that it does not drop the correct bomb that I have selected, instead dropping all 8 bombs in the same order regardless of what I have selected. so do I just mentally have to keep track of which bomb im on and which pp to be set to? also does it really bind to the correct waypoint from the station, so if dropping bomb 1 off of rack 8, does it take the seleced pp from station 8? or the selected pp from the currently selected station in the pp page.... I think this is worthy of you making another video. its a bit tricky.

The easiest, and most realistic way to get from MGRS to LL is to consult the/a map, identify the designated grid and then identify the LL coordinates. No fancy math or web converter required. The most realistic, but more imprecise way is, to use the F10 map in Map mode find the grid from the map coordinate overlay and identify the LL coordinate from LL overlay. If you don't mind cheating a bit, there's still the coordinates display in the map bar for 100% accuracy. ;) ...and thanks for the handy overview and tutorials. Super helpful and to the point. :)
@RedKiteRender5 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can however it requires a map with a resolution to at least 1 meter, of the target area, its not terribly practical in my experience to convert accurately this way. In the future we should be able to enter MGRS into waypoints so hopefully we wont have to worry about converting and can just combo it with waypoint desg in too mode.

Can you explain in further detail the part where we have to REALIGN every time we switch weapons? Does this included if i go A/A and back to A/G? Or if you hit step on the page to select another bomb it resets and you have to realign it each time?
@RedKiteRender5 жыл бұрын
Step has no effect, just cycles the selected station, all jdams of the same type align at the same time. But only one type can be aligned at a time eg gbu38 or 31. Going into air to air mode will deselect the jdam and depower it, losing it’s alignment unfortunately.

A bit confused by something from this and the 1 pass 8 JDAMs video. In this one for the PP mode you add the target data for PP1-4 and then cycle to the next after each bomb releases. From the other video it seems like PP1-5 are unique to each station. Were PP1-5 global across the aircraft at one point and they changed it later on?

Quick question with PP targets on JDAM programming on double racks: there are 6 PP pages, you can hold up to 8 JDAMs. How do you cycle double racked weapons so you can program them indivudually? This has been driving me nuts and its the only reason why i havent done mission 10 of Raven One yet. Hypothetically speaking, sta 4 with 2 bombs on that rack is still sta 4, and every time I select Step it just steps over to the next hardpoint and not the weapon.

GBU-38's are the Mk82 with Jdam kit, Mk82's have a number of different parts that can change their name and function. Like the laser guidance kit, which makes a mk82 a Gbu-12, can be a little confusing, especially since some aircraft differing names in their software.
