Thanks for the video! I just pollinated my first nepenthes and it seems to have been about 80% successful! I can't believe how fast the seed pods are growing! But the female is a pure ventricosa so I guess that makes sense

Tried to follow just what you said in this video (including microwaving the prepared pot)... but I'm getting mold on some of the seeds (at the embyo--which is probably a good sign RE: successful pollination)... would it be okay to spray with thiomyl or physan? (...or do you have another suggestion?) Thanks!! Aloha, -pt

How do you cope with mold in these humidity domes?
@redleafexotics47222 жыл бұрын
Never have an issue. Some use hydrogen peroxide to battle it. Mold would probably be an issue if not enough light is given.

How long does it take for a nepenthes to flower?
@redleafexotics47222 жыл бұрын
Every plant is different. Once they are mature and vining usually they flower. This can take anywhere from 3 - 10 years depending on the species or hybrid. Sometimes they flower early out of stress. Some growers have huge vines and never see flowers.

Do you have any issues with fungus? Every time I put it in a hermetic bag I have this problem.

Mahalo Dom for another great video! I started about a year ago sowing Nep seeds and got some nice results; others total duds. But I am always wondering about fertilizing with a much diluted solution. In the past few weeks, I took a cue from another seed grower to lightly mist spray once a week. I do not do it that often though and use Maxsea at 1/4 tsp/gall. H20. But, my question is: Do you fertilize seedlings? If so, what do you use?
@monke19192 жыл бұрын
Any fertilizer is probably way too strong for little seedlings.

Im curious, do you filter the chlorine & fluoride out of your water, or simply use it straight from the tap?
@redleafexotics47222 жыл бұрын
Yes! I only use reverse osmosis and rain water for the greenhouse!
@monke19192 жыл бұрын
No tap water for nepenthes. Also that doesn't really do much it still has all the minerals in it by getting rid of the chlorine and fluoride
