One of my favorite rappers ever. Redman is such an eccentric and talented rapper who is also infinitely likeable (and he has the most exciting delivery; ALWAYS a ton of energy when he delivers bars). I love his solo work, and on top of that Blackout is one of my favorite albums ever, and that Red and Meth TV show holds a special place in my heart. And WOW even more love from Redman for putting Black Thought on his Avengers list. I like the new album, but it's pretty long. It has a few weak points, but I'll take them if it means having new Redman.

I am really happy to be from The “Middle Child Generation” as J Cole calls it. We are the nexus of Greatness. All my childhood legends are aging better than any other generation of HipHop. Redman, The Roots, Busta, Nas, Ghostface, Method Man, JayZ, Scarface, Snoop. That generation that came up around 91-95 have aged better than everyone and stayed relevant longer. Never thought I’d see Redman become a deeply religious, deeply philosophical and insightful speaker. We grew up seeing Jordan, we saw AI, we saw Kobe, we saw Lebron. But we also know bout Kareem, Wilt, Magic, Isaiah. We grew up on Michael Jackson, but we also know Usher and Chris Brown. We appreciate Kendrick telling a story, because we grew up hearing Ghostface and Nas tell stories. But, we also know Slick Rick, Rakim too. Greatest generation. We saw every legend in the NFL from Joe Montana, Dan Marino, Jerry Rice, to Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, Chris Carter, Ken Norton Jr, to Warren Sapp, to Michael Vick. But we also know bout Walter Payton, Night Train Lane, etc.

Red is a natural born artist man. The type of artist that if he was born 10,000 years ago he would have been banging on rocks and singing. The type of artist that had music in mind thousands of years before business people started trying to play puppetmaster. These types of people are the reason we have music to begin with and it's sad to see the music landscape be so full of people who look at it as a mark and their ticket to make it big. Music is supposed to be a force of positivity and now since most regular artists can't make a living on it, these business minded artists are increasing in frequency. An endless chase for money breeds insecurity, writing songs from the heart is about triumphing over your insecurities and being vulnerable. In regards to the soul they are polar opposites. Hopefully that made an ounce of sense.
@sukimarmelaide403013 сағат бұрын
I love the faster horse point, Justin, innovation can be dangerous to the individual artist, but for evolution of the Culture, personal risk is often requisite. Sometimes it can make you look tone deaf, or even silly, and other times, you give them what they didn't know they wanted
