All the people back home (rust belt)put a mixture of motor oil and diesel in a sprayer and and spray the underneath of their vehicles in the fall to avoid rust. Always works pretty good. Maybe something you might try.

Swap to a explorer rear axle you will get 35 spline axle shafts and possibly 4:10 LS. Use antiseize on the bolts.

you should wire wheel the frame and axle, then spray some rust reformer on them, and finish off with a spray on undercoating to help make it last a bit longer.

appears that the clamp you put midway down the pack caused premature wear in between the leafs making the much weaker.

Iv got a 02 4.0 ranger and it has 290 and then it dropped the back timing chain and I was going ab 45 mph and that made for a bad day. I can't really complain about it because I got it at 135 or 140 and I never changed the oil in it at all I just run the hell out of it. Iv halled full size chevy vans and a e350 ford van with it. I gave it a hard life then it just had enough of it one day and then it dropped the back chain and that was all she wrote. To get back on the rd I'll have to redo the whole top end and mabey a few pistons and both heads

It’s a damn ranger, you want to haul something buy a 1/2 ton or something bigger. Bet you didn’t replace the u-bolts either! See you did full send on that shock bolt cause you couldn’t get it lined up properly.
