Heard this song for the 1st time when I was in high school on a Naruto amv about Hinata, and the historical reference in it left me gobstruck. In sixth grade I was assigned a history project on this awesome, iconic Indian chief that no one knows about called Chief Joseph, real name Hin-mah-too-yah-lat-kekt, and out of all the details of his life that stuck out to me was the speech he made when he and his tribe were forced to surrender to the white oppressors who took their homes from them. That speech is the words in this song at 2:40. I recognized them the INSTANT I heard them. Almost couldn't believe what I was hearing and had to replay the words several times. Chief Hin-mah-too-yah-lat-kekt, your spirit will never die!

This song hits diferent b coz i heard this song back in 2001 for the first time.. i was a little boy seeing american soldiers in our village in kosovo with big arms.. its the 2nd time i hear this song after 20 years and it allmost makes me cry b coz it reminds me where i came from.. 20 years ago i ws a child in middle of a war and now i live peacefully in switerland .. 🥺😐
