@KrazyKATRecipes3 жыл бұрын
Hi Julie! Thanks for watching my video! I normally just use plain boiling water for the broth. Here's the link to my video on how I prepare a bowl of kaosoy *be sure to read the description below video for more detail! kzbin.info/www/bejne/pp61opqpod6djdU

can you share a picture of the container for the fermented bean paste?
@KrazyKATRecipes8 жыл бұрын
PVsQueen thanks for watching. If you are referring to my homemade fermented bean paste, I am longer selling it. However you can try this Chinese brand. It's not quite the same as the Northern Lao homemade fermented bean paste but it's close enough. goo.gl/images/eZ0Ull

ThunderLaoKATng I'm guessing san Jose or Brentwood lol I haven't been down there for so long I don't know how only takes to get to certain areas I once went down there and got lost in Oakland cuz things had changed so much and I hate the traffic over there it sucks and I also hate the fact that some Asians down there things that they are better or Cooks better than other Asians that made me to move up here and I think Asian people down there should think first before they criticize another Asian that's just my own opinion but I did and still do have friends down there please give me your opinion about my comments thank you

Bruce Lee ... I live in a city call Milpitas (15 minutes from San Jose)... things have changed a lot down here. I feel comfortable living here because of the Asian population, because of it, I don't feel like a minority. Everywhere I go around town, I see Asians, so I fit right in! Lol.. Everything is also more accessible and I don't have drive far for Asian markets.

yeng lee ... I never tried it with Korean fermented bean paste. It is very different from the Northern Lao fermented bean paste... but if I was to try the Korean ones I would probably try ones like these: goo.gl/images/Jjv9Co

hi Kathy, can we use regular fine chili pepper, or paprika or has to be Korean chili pepper?
@KrazyKATRecipes7 жыл бұрын
rosyred2015 ... thanks for watching! you can use regular fine chili powder if you like it very spicy... paprika and korean chili powder is used mostly for the red color! :-)
@linslife1008 жыл бұрын
Would there be a difference in taste if I left out the Korean pepper?
@KrazyKATRecipes8 жыл бұрын
thanks for watching! Korean peppers makes the sauce more red, if you don't add it, it won't make a difference in taste. :-)

What if can yuuh add partial paprika mixed with Korean chili pepper powder!???
@KrazyKATRecipes8 жыл бұрын
Paprika is great for this recipe as well... I didn't add it in this recipe because paprika gives it a little kick and my boys can't handle the spice. :-)

I've only seen it sold in Sacramento (Hmong grocery store). Make sure it's the Northern Lao style fermented beans otherwise your kasoy will not taste the same.

I haven't been able to find any store brands that tastes the same, however if you don't have access to the northern Lao fermented bean paste you can still used the fermented chili bean sauce.
