The meat sauce looks absolutely delish! Would you be able to do a video of the broth for this dish? Thanks!
@KrazyKATRecipes10 жыл бұрын
Hi Veronica! Thanks for watching my video! Traditionally, the broth that goes with this meat sauce is just plain hot water because the meat sauce is already very flavorful... You then just add additional seasoning like, fish sauce, chili garlic pepper sauce, soy sauce, msg, black pepper with some lemon or lime, and chopped green onions and cilantro, bean sprouts and cabbages... nowadays people are getting creative and they make the broth like pho broth... with meat, seafood, blood cubes, meatballs, etc. so it's really up to you. :-)

Does any asian stores sell and ship the fermented soy bean paste?
@KrazyKATRecipes Жыл бұрын
There are fermented soy bean sauce sold in stores but those ones are not the same as this northern Laos homemsfe style... if you can find it at your local store, there's a fermented soy bean sauce by a Chinese brand call Masters... that's the only brand that I've tried that is somewhat similar. Thanks for watching my video!
@yerxiong966110 жыл бұрын
Are there alternative meat you can use such as 70/30 beef? Or are you able to taste the pork fat once it's cooked? How do you serve it? Do you add water to the noodles first then just add the sauce according to taste?
@KrazyKATRecipes10 жыл бұрын
Hi Yer, it's traditionally made with pork, but you can substitute it with ground chicken or turkey... I would not use beef personally just because it's not flavorful enough for me. As for tasting the pork fat, not really because there's so much garlic and plus the fermented bean paste takes over the dish. For the broth, traditionally you just add hot water to it and add additional seasoning such as garlic chili pepper sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce and msg and lime or lemon. if you want to make it a more flavorful broth, boil some chicken or pork neck bones, and meatballs.

OhKy... let me get this straight n correct right....! Kasoy is A Laos dish?!!!? not a mien dish?!?.....rite?
@KrazyKATRecipes8 жыл бұрын
MaiG-unit23 thanks for watching! Kasoy is actually a Dai Lue people dish from Northern Laos but other ethnic groups from that area that likes kasoy has adopted the dish and made their own versions of it. To me personally it doesn't matter if Mien, Hmong, Thai or Lao people call it their dish, as long as it's good, and their family and friends enjoy it! :-)

hi Rosemary... sorry this recipe is not like what you're used to... I know a lot people who make kasoy and they all make theirs a little differently. This is how I like my kasoy, therefore I tweaked it to my own personal taste. I encourage anyone trying this recipe to add or omit what they like or don't like and make it their own recipe. After all when it comes to food, I think personal taste plays a very important role, especially when it's your own recipe! :-)

Hi do you have a recipe to make the fremented bean paste?
@KrazyKATRecipes7 жыл бұрын
kthao685... Thanks for watching. I haven't had a chance to make a video for fermented bean paste. Waiting for hot weather (summer time) because that's the best time to make it. :-)
