It is not schadenfreude I promise, but I do enjoy seeing the messy reality of guinea pigs being presented by someone who truly understands these beings. I acknowledge that it is in the guinea pig's nature to burrow, destroy hay, dump food and move anything not nailed down within their habitat to odd (at least to their humans) places. As I say to my adorable wheeking "potatoes" on a daily basis, "you are lucky that you are so adorable."

The plexiglass update looks great! My sweet husband built a cage for my 2 guinea pigs that looks almost identical to yours. He used a router to create channels on the 3 sides of the wood frame for the plexiglass panels to slide into and it worked perfectly! No gluing needed!

You could try cleaning the glass with vinegar in the water, 50/50, and see if the taste will put them off licking. Its a very good cleaner too!

I was wondering.......what happened to the 'Floaty' (carrot) for the water bottle(s ??){didn't you have two (2) water bottles). Also, I would be wearing gloves when removing those films off the glass...there have been times where I would slice or slightly cut my hands/fingers!🩸🚩⛑

Have you ever thought about getting a nest cam to see what the guinea pigs do when you’re not around? Or maybe when your toddler is old enough to not need a baby monitor anymore you can use it for the guinea pigs.

These creatures are designed by Jesus! GOD is amazing. We just had our female give birth. The complexity of birth is astounding - definitely not the result of evolution! Reproduction could not come about by random mutations!
