I love pegasus, herod, percival and Layton. If I can just find it at cheaper price I would be stoked. Pegasus smells similar to side effect by Initio without the powdery smell. Also love absolute aphrodisiac by initio. Thank you for the video on pegasus. Oh and I agree that pegasus is amazing and in a class of its own.

Redolessence can't wait! On my skin both versions of Layton have great, rewarding drydowns many hours after application which sadly isn't the case with more and more fragrances these days. On my skin I get a really nice creamy sandalwood.

I like this, smells a bit like reflection man for the first 5 minutes. It has a bit of hypnotic poison but not as much as people say to me. The main notes I pick up on in order are vanilla, jasmine, almond, amber. I don't pick up sandalwood from this as per fragrantica but I'm sure its there .

Thanks for your take on this Stephen. This is a fragrance that literally changed the way I look at fragrance period. I got a sample and when I smelled it I was speechless. I had never come across anything like it before and was an instant purchase. Because of this scent I now also have Herod and Oajan ( two more power houses)!

I never smelt this but I got Amarf Craze for my husband which is supposed to be a dupe. Craze is a a little harsh but I like how it smells after a few hours when it softens up. I bought my husband Derby Club House Gold and it has the same type of harshness. I will never buy him any Armarf again.

Wet Shaving... Don't dismiss trying online decant shops like LUCKY SCENT and SCENT SPLIT..etc. You can get a sample for as little as $4 and then you can purchase multiple samples from same house to narrow down to your favorites before buying a bottle. I bought a bottle of one that I really liked instead of one I really LOVED because I didn't smell the later before or at the same time. That won't happen to me anymore because I'll buy samples first.

Love Pegasus and most of the PDMs - Godolphin (my first niche), Galloway, Habdan, Herod and to a lesser extent Darley. Totally agree with you that you can smell quality in all their releases and it's not for want of it that you will not like any of them. Also, it does not hurt that they perform and are more wearable in general compared to other niche lines.

So I went to Vegas for my bachelor party this past weekend and of course we ended up at a strip club. I was wearing Pegasus that night. Keep in mind a strip club in Vegas would be very smoky with cigar and cigarette smoke. Fast forward, a nice young lady is on my lap and she digs her face into my neck and takes a long deep breath and she absolutely fell in love with the scent. It drove her crazy, long story short, she hung out with me the whole night and I didn’t spend a dime. Pegasus drew this girl in and didn’t let her go. Beast scent!

I like this one a lot, it’s everything a standard designer citrus / vanilla frag should be but never is. I’m surprised you didn’t mention the citrus / bergamot up front, it’s really really great. I was thinking it could’ve been softened a little with some neroli but then it probably wouldn’t be as stand out ish.

Here, is the copy and paste of the Brand story from the PdM website: The XVIIIth Century was the indisputed reign of King Louis XV. France was the flagship of fragrances, with Grasse and Paris as its leading places. Everyday, the king requested a different scent for his apartments and streams of aromatic scents sprang from the royal fountains. Renowned for its scent extravagances, the court was named “la cour parfumée” (the perfumed court). The best fragrances of all time were invented during this era by the king’s dedicated perfumer ‘Jean Fargeon’. The King decided to give to Marly castle, built by Louis XIV, more importance by dedicating it for the well-being of the horses. As a fervent admirer of horses, Louis XV always tried to enhance horse qualities by cross breeding them. He was offered 8 Arabian horses by the King of Tunisia, ‘Bey de Tunis’. Among them are the Darley Arabian, Godolphin Arabian and the Byerley Turk. Those horses were the base of thoroughbred Arabian breed mixed with the strong and tall European breed. In 1743, in memory of his great-grandfather Louis XIV, Louis XV commissioned Guillaume Coustou to sculpt his famous masterpiece for the grounds of the Château de Marly (Marly Castle). This magnificent work of art, known as “The Marly Horses”, earned a place on the Champs Elysees Avenue in the heart of Paris in 1974, where it can still be admired today. The originals are conserved in Louvre Museum in an old court, named la Cour Marly (Marly court). Parfums de Marly revives the spirit of lavish receptions and festivities held in the Château de Marly, for the delight of members of the Royal Court and foreign dignitaries.
