This video was perfect, just what I needed as an advancer player. Thank you so much Pete! Is the redouble after a cuebid alertable? also the one after a stopper ask?

A further point on “to play” redoubles is how attractive this is when you are not-vulnerable. If you are wrong and the contract goes one off, you have cost your side 100. On the other hand, if it makes you gain at least 200. If it makes an overtrick (not unheard of), you gain at least 350. When these redoubles are successful, they also have a powerful psychological effect on opponents which can linger well beyond the deal itself. (This logic is obviously most valid at teams)

Do you use Forum D bidding system

A couple years ago, my partner opens 1H with Axx AKQxxx xx Axx, RHO doubles, and I redouble with QTxx - QTxxx KQxx. Doubler meekly runs to 1S and we nail them for -1100. We said that that was appropriate punishment for daring to double us!

Just a quick question if you don't mind. Why would you not bid 1H in the first example and 1S in the second example?

By redoubling you aren't excluding playing in these spots and you may get a chance to penalize the opponents.

To me redouble in these cases denies four card major. I guess it depends upon partnership agreements. I prefer to utilise rdbl in case I have no suit to bid but have values to show. I would be perfectly ok to bid rdbl if my partner bids 1S, RHO dbl and I have a hand something like 2443 with 10+HCP.
