Yup, and this was basically the last year TNN and Diamond P Sports did this too, since introducing the live final rounds shows on TNN in 1992

When Steve Evans makes the statement about the GatorNationals being first held in 1972 I think he meant to say 1970

Scott Kalitta might have broken the 310 MPH barrier. But he became an unguided missile against Blaine Johnson. But tragedy would happen later in Indiana when Blaine died during qualifying.
