They should have the same features, just not perkey rgb. Keep in mind though that the Hotswap in most redragon budget keyboards like the k552 does not support every switches like mx switches because it's a 3 pin hotswap board with smaller holes. So because of that it is only compatible with other outemu switches or if you want to get some nicer ones, akko switches are great for it since it's also compatible.

Cool build man. How long did it take to lube the switches? Do they feel heaver after lubing or lighter?

This was my first ever custom keyboard and it took me 8 hours to lube the switches, adding foam to the case and between the PCB and the Metal plate last lastly is Holee modding the stabilizers. Yes it is my first time, it was tiring and my hands were hurting at that time.

@@tiamatjax7819 it was my first time and I have no knowledge yet on how to lube and in that 8 hours I was watching tutorials too on how to lube and do other mods. Actually it is easy and fast to do the lubing and modding. You can do it less than 8 hours.

the switch is plug and play. it is up to you if you mod the switch like lubing or adding some film.

Hi, I have a question, so I have a redragon k552 and I swapped the switches with Akko cs vintage whites, it works, but for some reason the switches are very wobbly, it’s also very easy to be taken out, and the switch won’t go fully in the keyboard , how can I fix this?

I had the same problem too and what i did was I forcedly push the switch until it doesn't move or wobble like the switch is fully in. Once the switch was fully in, I carefully pull the switch and put it back again to make the socket slightly big and for future switch upgrades. Now it has no problem at all. That's the problem of K552 some sockets won't let the switch pins go in fully. PS. If you force push the switch make sure you align the pins to the socket so that you don't get bent pins

My K552 is hot swappable and I didn't mod my Akkos, I just lubed them and it is good a fit. It's like plug and play.

Hi, i bought some akko red rose, they barely fit in the holes, but they work great, yours fit perfectly in the metal holes?

Yes they do fit perfectly. At first it's kinda hard to put the switches in the PCB because it is tight and I got some bent pins. After several plugs and unplugs it made the hole wide (for my keyboard) and it made it easy to install the switches.

No soldering. The PCB is hot-swappable.

Awesome man. Did you have any pinging noises coming from the keyboard when you first got it? Just got mine and it's driving me crazy even with dampening foam.

Thank you, man! Yes i do have pinging at first but after i put dampening foams and doing the tempest mod (putting masking tape under the PCB) the pinging noise was gone. Maybe Tempest mod can help get rid of your pinging noises.

Just to be sure does this work on the white version, and is it hard to put, do I need to like unscrew the keyboard or something because I really need to know I might buy them Like is it I just pull the normal switches out of the Redragon k552 and put those switches in do I need to change anything else? It is very easy to install ANY switches in Redragon K552 just make sure to align the pins to the holes so that you will not get bent pins. There is no need to unscrew any screws, just plug and play. Just be careful with the pins and align it properly.

I'm trying to choose a linear Akko switch, do you know which one, from white,rose,red and green are the least scrachy and with lower ping?

The 3 switches you've mentioned are scratchy and pingy when they are not lubed. Matcha Green has the heaviest operating force 55g, next is Rose Red 48g and Vintage White the lightest 40g. It depends on the preference. For me, I love light switches because it won't hurt my hands while gaming or typing for work that is why I choose Vintage Whites.

Modding the keyboard and lubing the switches are just personal preference if you want to achieve good keyboard sound. I modded my keyboard and lubed my switches because I don't want to hear the sound the scratchiness of my switches and the pinging sound of my keyboard when I type. In the end it is just personal preference. 😊

There are 2 types of switches, there are 3 pins and 5 pins. 3 pins are just 2 metal pins and 1 plastic pin in the middle. 5 pins are 2 metal pins, 1 in the middle and 2 on the sides that's why you need to clip it or it depends on the PCB if it supports 5 pin. For my switches, Akko Switches, it has only a 3 pin switch so there is no need to clip or something.

i got a question too so basically one of my switches stop working and ive had no choice but to pull it out and check whats going on well i dont have a switch puller and the choice i had was a screwdriver so ive sucessfully pull the switch out but one of switch pins broke and its stuck with the pcb so what should i do pls help

In that case, If you have a thin tweezers you could get the broken pin out of the pcb socket or another way is to dismantle/disolder the pcb socket. That's all you can do. I hope it helps.

We have the same problem, my K552's stock switches were tight. When pulling switches using switch puller and it's tight to pull it out, clip the switch puller on to the switch and just wiggle it gently while pulling.

There's no such thing as 2 pin board, what do you mean? Yes, Akko and Outemu are 3 pin switches and there are somewhat the same. K552 boards are not 2 pin boards. K552 boards only support Akko and Outemu switches so the K552 board has 3 pin slots for those switches.
