This is glorious I feel like the redraw of the enemy was a bit unfortunate though. It lost a bit of an alien not-of-this-world effect in its transformation into... dog. Despite the rule of thumb that circle-y shapes often feel softer and safer, I feel like the alien-ness and gross feeling of blob shapes can still work for some hostile characters. I'm reminded of the polluted water spirit and no-face from Spirited Away during their hostile scene, for example

Thank you, and that’s a great point! In terms of favoring the alien-ness of the design it would have been a great idea to preserve and add more blob shapes. It’s certainly not impossible to pull of, and you mentioned really good example of character designs that are intimidating without loading it up with a bunch pointy shapes. There’s certainly is a lot more that can go into a character design than what I managed to cover here. Maybe it’s worth doing a dedicated video on it. Thanks for the comment!

Hey, thank you that really means a lot! If you're referring to the characters bouncing as they talk, I used Premiere Pro to create my videos. And all I do is move the anchor point to the character's feet and manually create a squash and stretch animation by adding a few keyframes. If you're unfamiliar with the term squash and stretch, then it's definitely something worth looking up if you're looking to create a similar look. Hope this answered your question!

@@DeltaBG you can use a blend mode such as screen to remove a black background. I don’t use after effects personally, so my knowledge on specifics for that program is quite limited.
