I’m really glad you made this video. As an animator, I animate every episode of my show all by myself and some people don’t realize how time consuming and incredibly hard it can be. Not to mention I have other projects on the side to do. Maybe this video will open the eyes of people who haven’t gotten into making art or people that are demanding new animations! As a voice actor, hearing people say “stop complaining, it’s just talking into a microphone. It’s easy” makes me angry. It is not just that. It’s finding people who will pay you enough so you can live for at least a month, making sure you get the voice down and don’t kill your voice from, possibly over 80 attempts, saying one sentence and making sure that all of it is perfect and it sounds like a natural conversation, not some dude sitting in his bedroom talking to himself. Entertainment and animation is hard, and I hate how not a lot of people understand it. Also, I’d love to see how the animation pipeline works. I wanna see how they can get drawing to move like their real so seamlessly
@awphooey2u5193 жыл бұрын
EXACTLY! I've been trying to audition for VA. It's not easy. At all. You need to get your voice down pat, make sure it doesn't hurt you, it's a lot of acting because you have to say the same sentence over 20xs trying to get it correctly. You are a genuine actor. The only difference is that the public doesnt see you. Hell, up until the 2000s, no one noticed voice actors like they do now but now many travel. It's the rise of the internet.

@drillo47072 жыл бұрын
One 22 minute South Park episode takes 6 days to make, and as an animator I jumped out of my chair. The brainstorming, scripting, animating, voice acting, and editing are all done in 6 freaking days. It's just absolutely mindblowing seeing how well made these episodes are in that short period of time. Animation takes time, but keep in mind that there's a whole process besides the animation.
@blackmanrunfree2 жыл бұрын
Plus not to meantion they’ve been doing that for YEARS they’re pipeline is stupid solidified cause the entire team has a full layout before they start. There’s honestly no way they aren’t just immediately crunching from day 1 though like gd
@MrBeastPhilantropy2 жыл бұрын
it can take them even 3 days to make one, and they just make them as they go, they've even made changes a few hours before an episode aired.
@tgi3d8812 жыл бұрын
A lot of time in the off season they flesh out ideas and take notes to potentially be used in an episode. every so often they do special episodes that are made in the off season and take loads of time to make like the hand animated ninja episode or the heavy metal one that uses rotoscope

I mean, I looked at episode 6 and the animation in the fighting scene literally shows the amount of time put into it! There are shows that CAN make an episode per week, but they are cheap and horribly written for the most part (this of cause does not include south park!). Vivziepop and the team know what they do and they want to make something great. But it takes time. And I'd rather wait 6 months or longer for one episode and later recommend the entire series to my friends because it's hilarious and awesome, than beeing unhappy with the result of time pressure.

Also note: The main reason that an episode of South Park can be made in as little as a week is because South Park had been in production for the last 20-odd years, and in that time they've created a library of assets numbering somewhere in the tens of thousands (probably), and that library gets a tiny bit bigger every time they have to draw something from scratch. Lots of time is saved in not having to create new assets, however simple they may be.
